Who is The Cool-TV targeting?

I didn't watch it for 90 minutes straight, but 3 videos I saw on The Cool-TV in a 90 minute period last night makes me wonder "Who are they targeting?" It seems doubtful that someone (other than me who has strange taste in music to begin with) would like all 3 songs.

It sounds incongruous they would appeal to early adopters through over-the-air television, even if 2009 was the digital transition time (early adopters would've adopted it by then).....

Their target audience is 'cool' people. It's in the name!

Each Cool TV station has its own server which receives content from the network; there is no single network feed.

The Cool TV is barely even around anymore. More and more stations are discontinuing it and replacing it with one of the more popular sub channels (such as MeTV or Antenna TV). I doubt it'll be around for another 2 years.

So what is the future of music on OTA TV? Companies have tried it since The Box and everyone since has been a failure.

The 3 noticeable exceptions being Hartford/New Haven, Springfield, and Providence. - LIN TV's WCTX, WWLP, and WPRI. The Cool-TV website is promising more affiliates soon including NYC and Philly, but I doubt that will happen. If LIN TV decides to drop The Cool-TV WWLP and WPRI should both pick up Antenna-TV as those markets don't have Antenna-TV. WCTX could pick up ME-TV since there's no ME-TV affiliate in the market. (Of course WWLP could also take ME-TV).

Just throwing something out here too. If WCTX were to replace Cool-TV with ME-TV some cable companies in Fairfield and New Haven Counties would have 2 channels carrying ME-TV. ME-TV New York (WZME/Bridgeport, CT) is Must-Carry in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. WZME of course is a part-time affiliate.

LIN Broadcasting is even dropping the network from their stations. In most cases, they're waiting for the contracts to expire, & not renew them. WTHI Terre Haute is one example where LIN dropped it for Fox on their subchannel. I'm not sure how much longer LIN has for stations like WNDY Marion/Indianapolis & WLFI Lafayette Indiana, or WOTV Battle Creek, MI (Grand Rapids). Indianapolis already has MeTV & Antenna TV, but WOTV could pick up MeTV. I don't know what they'd put on WLFI.

They look to be going the FTA satellite route. The channel was recently put on Galaxy 19 along with all the international, ethnic, and religious channels already on the Ku band there.

Indianapolis already has MeTV & Antenna TV, but WOTV could pick up MeTV. I don't know what they'd put on WLFI.

Fox, ABC, or NBC, depending on how well the Indy stations are received in the Lafayette area?
