who is yo favorite baskeball announer

... Umm.... yeah.... I'll be nice...

djfrresh, I think you mean Marv ALBERT. Worked Knicks games for decades. He also spent some time doing football, hockey, horseracing.

spiro dedes is the best local nba radio guy. play-by-play or color - hands down. soon to be national - on ncaa games already.

the parade of knicks/nets tv play-by-play guys are the best local nba tv guys. always solid. mostly national guys moonlighting or its their day job.

just keep the homers to college or the minor leagues.

Marv Abbert and That guy who say " In between the eyes " when a big shot is made ( I forgot his name,he work for TNT and does NFL games ).

Kevin Harlan

The most underrated announcing team in all of college basketball is Ray Goss, the Voice of the Duquesne Dukes here in Pittsburgh, and his color man George Von Benko.

Smooth and professional but with the right amount of enthusiasm, I think he's been doing the games at Duquesne since before the Norm Nixon days- and that's announcing a lot of losses.

Yet Goss is always there with a smile you can hear on the radio. His color man, Von Benko, previously was the PBP man at Cincinnati, so you know there is some talent there behind the mike.

Another announcer who doesn't get much recognition around here is Chris Shovlin, the Voice of Robert Morris, who just SOUNDS like a sportscaster.

Would be remiss if I didn't give some props to my friends Jay Sandos, who has built the East Tennessee State network, and Bill Hillgrove, who has been calling Pitt games since before Buzz Ridl.

And that's going back!

Down at the hometown level.. High School Basketball in Indiana.. Richard Lankford and son Jeff at WRAY-Am/Fm in Princeton, IN are great. Same family owned powerhouse in the country.. Hall of Fame member in IHSAA ... Also, Walt Ferber 40 miles east of there at WITZ-Am/Fm in Jasper-Huntingburg, IN... They make Hoosier Hysteria sound NCAA/NBA..... Pros of the Lo-cos'......

How could I forget my friend on the Illini side? IHSA Hall of Famer "Scott Allen" at WYNG.... College, check out Mike Ries at SIU-Carbondale...Hall of Famer in their athletic department.... Great delivery on sportscasts or play by play.....

Hard to argue with Mike Gorman of the Celtics. Say what you will about Tommy Heinson, but the two of them have an amazing rapport that you don't find in every broadcast team.

Kevin Harlen Hands Down! He should be the lead NBA Play-By-Play guy on ESPN & ABC.

I also Like the voice of the NC State Wolfpack Radio Network Gay Haun (Hope I spelled His Name Right). He has the right amount of energy and excitement.

Got to give it up to Gus Johnson on CBS covering the K-State Game last week. He makes a game extra exciting with his screaming.

I agree I'd take Kevin Harlan over Mike Breen on the lead network TV games. I miss the Brad Nessler, Bill Walton & Tom Tolbert team. Entertaining!

I thought Gus Johnson was Mr. MMA now.
