For me it's u-Turn Lavergne (Lavergn Vivio). She sounds like the most ignorant hillibilly hick I have ever heard in a mid major market. I know this is Nashville and it's not unusual to have a southern accent here but she sounds like she's got peanut butter stuck in her mouth which was chased by a baccky chaw that she's had for threee days. Put her out of there...she's terrible!!!!

Jeffries, you make most of us cringe. You really believe you know what you're doing.

One would think that someone over the years would have worked with Vivio to help her sound better. Obviously the people at WLAC didnt take the time or care..

Bob Kessling makes me cringe and I am a die-hard UT fan.
 
I 2nd Bob Kessling! I once kept track of all the times he messed up on a broadcast....lost count around 50!
Don't care for Newman on WSIX and cringe big time when I hear the new girl on WKDF in the am!

Hey, at least people call Nashville a mid-major and not a rimshot. ;)
Only kidding, here. And I'm a Yankee (Actually a Red Sox fan, but you get the point). ;)
 
Bob Kessling's color commentator Tim Priest drives me crazy when every other play is "one step away from taking it to the house".

Radio personalities using poor grammar is another peeve. "Between he and I there were 100 season tickets sold." Know the difference between a subject and prepositional object. "Between him and me," or, "between us...". "We sold 100 season tickets."

Mike Keith buries the control board needle on a simple point after touchdown conversion. "GOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD." Double the distortion for a sack.

Recently 106.7's Thom Abraham got into a discussion with a former Philadelphia resident on proper Philly steak terminology "wid" versus "wif". Discussion continued for three minutes. Check the map, guys. You are in the south.
 
Two jingles make me cringe. One is on Mix 92-9..this woman sings it really slow in almost a Minnie Mouse voice...."miiiiiiiix niiiiiiiiiinety twoooooo niiiiiiiiine" and that one on The River ......."woooooooooody and jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiim in the morrrrrrrrrrrning...." Stupid!!! What happened to those really good jingles on The River like "get your butt out of bed!" And I want to slap the radio anytime I hear "your friendly family station .." or "safe for the whole family".... Also John Tesh and Delilah makes me cringe. I've got to stop listening to Mix 92-9.
 
Those mix "lifestyle" liners get on my nerves.....

Has anyone listened to a break from Jimmy the K on 105.9 and counted how many times he says "man"?
 
Michael Del Giorno, Ralph Bristol and Gwen Freeman from WWTN. Ralph Bristol is nothing but a Paul Harvey wanna-be. How about trying to come up with your own style Ralph instead of ripping of Paul Harvey.

I liked Michael Del Giorno when he first came to Nashville. I thought his style was something fresh compared to what had been here but then his schtick and his act has worn a little thin. I now find him very annoying and grating, especially ever since his "Parrot" Gwen Freeman has joined him on the air. I think see is just there to agree with everything he says and to point out the obvious. Lately, whenever they have a guest on the show, they both spend at least half the show kissing the A@@ of their guests.
 
Doug on Mix 929 and Ace on 102.5

Doug sounds like he's on an elevator everytime he talks. And Ace everytime he opens the mic has to talk something Hollywood that no one cares about, or make a lame joke and then laugh about it.
 
KCBQ, KCMO, WMAK, never made it to WLS. Prefer the South and West.
 
wow, I must be aging, if someone had asked me that question in the past I could give a big list I guess I finally took the attitude "If they make me cringe I just don't listen." I am not saying that all is good in Nashville radio, I just do not care about things that I used to. After a lot of thought I can say Bob and Tom make me cringe and Mark Howard does. thats all I can think of. B&T are rarely funny, will have good comedians on their show and then ignor them. and Mark Howard will just not anyone else speak.
 
The commercials for Emma's, "thee suPOYlative flowist," make me cringe! I wish they would get rid of Elmer Fudd, and get someone who can actually talk! :mad:

By the way, channel 4, I tune out every time an Emma's ad comes on!
 
i don't know for sure..but i would almost bet the voice on EMMAS is the owner? or someone that has an intrest in the business..and probaly pays like clockwork so he gets to do his own spots..anyone know for sure ? as for cringe factor..COMMANDER CHUCK.."here they come" is he really in the air ?

You're probably right. Sheesh, clients who cut their own spots! ::)

As far as airborne broadcasters go, nothing is more annoying than sky 5! Nothing against Phil Jones, but the broadcasts break up so often that they are almost unlistenable! Hey newschannel 5 (and yeah, we know you're "HD" ::)), either fix whatever's wrong with sky 5, or ground it for good! :mad:
