Who remembers K-Rock?

I remember WXRK in it's original AOR format. Great music. Then Howard Stern came on in the afternoon and it became even better. After he moved to mornings their slogan was something like "Howard Stern in the morning, 360 degrees of rock all day". Then in I believe either the later part of 1987 or early 1988 they dumped the new music and went fossil rock. For the most part after that I only listened to K-Rock for Howard.

Same here. I thought the Classic Rock format sucked and I like Classic Rock. They just did a piss poor job of executing it. Unlike "The Peak" or DHA, so it is not all that hard to do it just that Infinity and CBS were completely incompetent in long term management of any form of a rock format.

I also used to listen to them the few times they switched to Alternative but they always managed to eventually screw it up by just cycling a handful of songs over and over again. (the same way they ruined the Classic Rock format)
