Who rocks harder wcsx or wllz?

WLLZ looks to have a harder rock playlist. They also lean more contemporary (more hair bands, grunge and a few post grunge bands. WCSX is a clustermate of WRIF, so they will leave some of the harder rocking songs to RIF.

I'm sure WLLZ uses being in the middle of WCSX and WRIF to their advantage. Why flip between two stations, when there is one that you can stay on and hear what both stations play.

There is quite a bit more overlap between WLLZ and WCSX than there is between WLLZ and WRIF.

WLLZ very barely touches any music made in the past 20 years, and like WCSX, its most commonly played decade is the 80s.

Perhaps due to WLLZ, WCSX over the past couple years has gradually added more hard rock to its playlist and even a select number of 90s songs to its playlist (they play 90s era Aerosmith a lot, and I've even heard Candlebox on WCSX on occasion. I've yet to hear Nirvana or Pearl Jam firsthand on CSX, though).

Nirvana "In Bloom" played at 2:41 p.m. today. Pearl Jam "Black" played at 1:46. Pearl Jam "Better Man" played Wednesday night at 8:29.

Thanks for the info. I'm glad WCSX is playing those artists even if infrequent.

I've lived around here long enough that I remember a time when WCSX would seldom if ever play AC/DC or even Led Zeppelin! That was when Ralph Cipolla was PD. Back in the late 90's and to perhaps the early 00's, WCSX steered clear from all hard rock artists that WRIF played routinely.
