Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: Opinions?

OK, no one has put this out, so I will

Changes since last season:

Clock is gone, back to no clock

Ask the audience is the only original lifeline left. New lifelines are two skip the question.

Dollar amount and question difficulty are randomized. etc etc

My opinion:

I've always hated the clock. No time to explore the question just so the show editors could have an easier job.

Increasingly difficult questions? Too many shows had me guessing at the easy ones while those that were $50k & $100k I totally knew.

Ask the expert had too many people who didn't know anything and were only there to promote their pathetic slice of the show biz pie.

To make a long review short I like the new show.

And if you catch it on KTLA you can compare for yourself b/c they show the new season ep followed by the clock episodes.

The "Phone-A-Friend" option (brought to you by AT&T) was no different, in that regard.

Getting back to the clock thing...........I hate it when a contestant sits there and
gabbles on for about 90 seconds on some almost simply question:

Let's see, a red light has three colors, I know there is a red and green light, my
wife has red hair, the other light can't be blue, I bought a pair of new shoes
yesterday, they were brown, my car is silver, I know it's not silver......................

I think it is an idiotic concept. I could never watch it.

I actually had a friend who was a contestant on this show. She bombed out on the 2nd. or 3rd. question
(which was one I knew the answer to). Always kept asking her afterwards "why didn't you CALL ME??"

They had a winner last season as a result of a tournament with a guaranteed winner. Beyond that, you go back to 2003 for the syndicated edition.

I agree with two previous posters:

1. Totally dumb concept (in both iterations). Hello? It's a guessing show, not a game show.

2. Really obnoxious host. Can't they find an older out-of-work jock for this gig? Would be tons better than Howie (I have no talent) Mandel. Only host worse is Jeff ("you must be a" redneck).

Howie's out of work on the game front now too. Maybe it Meredith leaves.....nah, they wouldn't, would they? ;)

I think you're thinking of a different game show...

You're absolutely correct. Was thinking of Deal or No Deal. My bad. <slinking away in embarrassment>

If it helps, I agree on your opinion of DoND, even though I do like Howie because of Bobby's World

Wow, a lot of hatred toward Meredith! I'm a little surprised by that. I think she is a very good host and has obviously proven her ability as she begins her 9th season with the show.

Gee, the cranks preferring an old white guy to a woman? Sounds familiar. :D

Totally agree with you.

Preferring an old white guy to an old white woman, to be exact. Not much of a choice there - so your usual criticism wears extra thin in this case.

Want to freshen it up? Dump Meredith and go with someone 'fresh' - of either gender.
