Save for the fact she could be his daughter, sure. Go on thinking that. 
At this point, if Meredith isn't what the actual audience sees as a stale element, there's roughly zero reason to "dump" her. Should the time come that she wants to move on and/or fatigue with Meredith is what they see in the data and the producers bring in someone new, the old crank patrol will complain it's not Regis (or Bill Cullen dug up from the grave), that it's not someone with game show "experience," and so on and so forth.
About as predictable as the sun rising and setting, even if the Weather Channel isn't reporting on said events at every given moment.
