Who was your first childhood TV "crush?"

OK, we're all (or mostly) guys here, so continuing in the "Back in the Day" vein.....

Back when you were at that certain age -- not quite into puberty, but old enough to start to realize that girls maybe weren't so icky after all -- who was the first TV personaility that you had a "thing" for?

Mine was Marlo Thomas, on "That Girl." Something about her cute little flip hairdo and squeaky voice stirred up feelings inside me that I had never experienced before! (Grin)

Of course, I also thought Marcia Brady was pretty hot, too....

(And so as not to be sexist about this, if there ARE any ladies browsing this board, tell us who your first male TV "heartthrob" was!)
 
Julie Newmar. Retire the trophy. When I first saw her as Catwoman, I was literally speechless. She also made numerous guest shots on other shows...and I damn near fell out of the barbers chair in 1977 when she posed in People magazine for her "Nudemar" pantyhose. Even the barber stopped cutting my hair to look. Beauty..a genius IQ..and a strong woman as she cares for her son, challenged since birth.

That's interesting to know about Julie Newmar. I myself am physically disabled since birth. With that in mind, and kind of tying that in to the subject at hand, I don't know if this would be a "crush" if you will, but I once did a thing with Jo Ann Worley from Laugh-In on my local Cerebral Palsy Telethon. I was about ten at the time so were talking circa 1975. She and I did a rendition of put on a happy face. Actually, she did most of the singing, I just sat in my wheelchair being cute. My god its amazing what 30 years can do to a person from 10 years old and cute to 40 years old and ugly. What the hell happened?
 
Mine was kids show personality Jossie Carey. I lived in Mi. at the time and she worked in Pa. so I could only watch her on vacation. While I was out there, my Grandmother wrote to her and gave her our phone number and she called me. wow!!!!!!!!!!

Judy Tyler--Princess Winterspring Summerfall on Howdy Doody. Then she showed up as Elvis's love interest in Jailhouse Rock.

Isn't it amazing too how that show produced one of the great comedic geniuses of our time in Robin Williams and pretty Pam Dawber drifted into obscurity. Funny how life works isn't it?

Oddly enough, mine was not on a show that appealed to kids, but
I watched Trials Of O'Brien with my dad back in 1965-66 and thought
it quite funny. That show should have made Peter Falk a star, but
it was a little ahead of its time; among other things, his character
was divorced, and the actress who played his ex-wife was my first
crush and I still have a thing for her: Joanna Barnes. She reminds
me a lot of Lauren Bacall in voice and manner. I'm more familiar
with her from her frequent appearances as a panelist on '70s What's
My Line? She had/has looks, intelligence, sophistication...what's
not to like?

Speaking of "Batman", I had a crush on Yvonne Craig as Batgirl. And later on in 10th grade, Deidre Hall as Electra Woman and Judy Strangis as Dyna Girl on "The Krofft Supershow". Don't know if that qualifies but I'm Electra-throwing it out there.

Hmmmmm, I think it would be Yvonne Craig as BatGirl in the reruns of the Batman series. Must have been that form-fitting costume. (But Alicia Silverstone did a nice job filling it out too decades later....)

She was just so cute.
 
First crush Connie Stevens ("Hawaiian Eye") started me being partial to blondes until Diana Rigg ("The Avengers") cured that!

Nobody remembers her now, but a French actress named Annie
Farge was the star of a short-lived 1960-61 CBS sitcom called
"Angel." The premise was sort of "I Love Lucy" in reverse:
the husband was American, the wife was from another country.
But she was just as screwball as Lucy, and with good reason:
Jess Oppenheimer produced both shows. Anyway, I thought she
was cute and have always wondered what happened to her.

She seems to have vanished -- IMDB lists just three more credits for her ("The Rifleman," a "Kraft Suspense Theatre" and an episode of "Perry Mason") through 1964, then nada, zip, zilch. (Well, plus an appearance as "herself" on "I've Got a Secret" in 1960 which was likely just a promotional appearance for her show). No bio there, either. Google had a thumbnail pic of her, but the source file is gone (and not available via Wayback Machine) -- even from the tiny thumb, she looks cute indeed, in a pixieish/gamin sort of way.
 
I have to be honest here...

I cannot recall if I had a childhood TV "crush", but as I got older I started developing "crushes" towards the girls (attractive but not too attractive; a line has to be drawn sometimes).

Whether it be the vixens on the TV soaps or the girls next door on the sitcoms and dramas or the game show models or even the working girls who strive to keep the family fed all the time, pretty much every guy has a crush on at least one of these kinds of girls.<P ID="signature">______________
