Who was your first childhood TV "crush?"

No, it was a serious question and I don't believe you provided a serious answer.

And you got a serious reply. As far as I know, Obama has never used another name. Why do you ask? Is this like the "birthers" who think he was born in Nigeria. You think he's using an alias? Are you trying to derail the thread?

Are you trying to derail the thread?
Hell, he does that with nearly every thread that he posts to, which is why I gave his first name (above).

A better question is why don't we have a stronger anti-"bumping" policy to prevent anyone from dredging up ancient threads here. If MDCS Wildcats (or whatever his name is) had posted a dozen new threads here, he would have been accused of spamming the board. Yet he "bumps" about a dozen older threads, and no one does anything about it. That behavior would have gotten him banned from some other boards.

I cannot answer the first question because I do not know who you were talking about? As for the second question, I was not trying to "derail" the discussion about childhood crushes on TV personalities. We could have had a discussion about the person with the name "Obama" via private messaging, but since there was no way to send you a private message, I had no choice but to discuss it here.

Now you're just being silly.

Who do you think I'm talking about?

I think the first tv crushes I had on a regular basis were a group of weatherwomen on WCYB, Ch. 5, Bristol, Va. during the mid-80's. I affectionately called them the Weatherchicks. This actually started in 1983 with Hagit Limor, and there were more of them along the way. Limor, while being the first and in this area the most "obscure" one of them, I understand now has gone on to pretty-good fame in Cincinnati as a news reporter there. (Really - 10 regional Emmys?!)

I also went through a period when I was smitten with Whitney Blake.

A few years later I was smitten with her daughter.

If I had been a kid in the '90s I would have had two: Danielle Fishel, Topanga on "Boy Meets World" and Christine Lakin, Al on "Step By Step."
