WHO? WHY?

Here's one for the DX-ing fans... just before 7 this evening, flipping through the AM dial, I got an HD lock on WHO, Des Moines for a few seconds.

Seems like I remember WHO was one of the stations in America that WREC had to notch its pattern for all those years ago. It was a Des Moines station, for sure, and another in Baltimore. Without those two older stations, WREC would have been clear channel...of course, now it is Clear Channel.

Ah! Never mind, as Emily Latella would say.

You must mean the "Great Communicator" (and for once I don't mean Tom Prestigiacomo)!

You are correct sir.
I was in Des Moine recently and they use Reagan snipits in station promos.

Hmmmm? Maybe it's just the sugar rush from all the Reese's Pieces I've been sampling, to be sure they're safe for the neighbor kiddies (and their munched-up parents) ... but reading Rob's post, I flashed on the idea that "Reagan Snippets" would be GREAT air name.

Ya rectum maybe I should just stick to the bite-size Butterfingers?

His first full time radio job (not counting Iowa football games, which was not full time), was at WOC Davenport, not WHO.
