Who will be Carrying the new Arsenio Hall Show

FOX? CW? UPN? MeTV? Antenna? COZI? The WB?
I read recently that the show is being distributed by CBS, so it's a decent bet that Arsenio will appear on CBS or CW O&Os. So in the SF Bay Area, I'll guess KBCW (CW44). in LA - KCAL-9 (owned by CBS but independent).

Of course, CBS distributed shows often appear on other carriers- Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortunebeing 2 obvious examples.

Oh, wah hah hah to them. There's nine months before the Dog Pound takes over. Loads of time to find another spot for Jerry's boys.

Meanwhile...

As the presser states, Tribune has locked the show into 17 markets. In Seattle, it's a toss-up between KCPQ/13 and KZJO/22. The former took Arsenio's prior series, so I'm betting it goes there right after the 10 PM newshour.

Arsenio has now been cleared in 85% of the country. In the Boston market, it should air on WSBK, sister station to WBZ.

You just know his audience, certainly the studio audience, will do the 'woof woof' thing constantly. But you gotta wonder if it will be The Arsenio Hall show all over again (the dogpound, kick it Sandy, things that make you say hmmmmmmmm, Burton Richardson's 'Arsenioooooooooooooooooooooooo Halllllllllllllllllllllllllll", Michael Wolf, the John B Williams Poetry Moment) or if there will be anything new. I realize Craig Ferguson has been anointed Letterman's successor but, since CBS is involved, if Arsenio takes off, he just might become Dave's successor when Dave retires.

Here's a promo for Arsenio:

And a reminder of the old days:

And, speaking of the old Arsenio days, I certainly wouldn't mind a return of Star Parodi. ;D

I wouldn't be so sure, only in that Arsenio turns 57 in mid-February, and he not that much younger than Letterman (who's 65). I think CBS wants to go with someone younger, which fits Ferguson younger. Letterman's production company owns both late night timeslots on the network, and I think 11:35pm/10:35 Central/Mountain is Ferguson's upon Letterman's departure unless otherwise.

My bet says it will be on WCCT-TV (CW) channel 20 of Waterbury/Hartford. Sister station WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford will likely stick with their 11 PM newscast (both stations are with Tribune).

According to the article, WGN-TV will pick up Arsenio Hall, & have him on at 10pm, after their 9pm newscast (will displace 30 Rock & 2 & A Half Men reruns). It'll go up against the local 10pm newscasts from CBS, NBC, & ABC, & the the first half hour of The Late Show With David Letterman & The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Why not bring back The Magic Hour while they're at it? These stations might be sorry they dropped their successful sitcom blocks for a 90s hasbeen,

I'm surprised to see KTLA clearing "Friends" at 11pm to make way for Arsenio, especially since he never aired on KTLA on his first go around. I think most of these independents are going to regret foregoing sitcom re-airs for this show.

Tribune mandate.

Face it, if WPIX was still airing Ralph Kramden at 11:30 PM, he'd have got the heave-ho by now.

The buzz that Craig Ferguson being Dave's successor has been bandied about for quite some time. Unless CBS drops a big dump truck load of cash at Ferguson's feet (which could influence anyone's decision making) Craig has always gone on record saying he walks when Dave does. He really doesn't want to be saddled to late night tv all the way to the grave. The man wants to write screenplays, direct and hit the road with his stand-up.

Besides, the Late Late Show is great as it is right now, a cheaply made bastard stepchild of the show prior to it. Craig's show on a much bigger budget would lose most of the charm that makes his show just a bit different than what everyone else is doing in late night.

In Denver, I don't see any possible scenario where KWGN 2 (CW) wouldn't carry it HOWEVER considering that CBS is syndicating it, I also wouldn't be surprised to see Indie KCDO 3 take the bold step of snatching it away from them (They already own the local rights to the original Star Trek series)

An outside (WAY outside) shot would be KMGH 7 (Who has the rights to Jeopardy & Wheel Of Fortune, Inside Edition & a few others) but that would be at 12:05 after Nightline

Cheers & 73 :D

Is KMGH-TV going to carry Jimmy Kimmel's show in pattern, starting January 8th?
Yep. They've always carried Nightline & JKL in pattern ever since Jimmy's debut back in 2001. No reason to believe this will change

Cheers & 73 :D

^"Jimmy Kimmel Live" began in 2003, not 2001. By the way, please stop emphasizing words such as "however" through embolden, underlined, capitalized letters. They are more distracting than helpful.

I wondered if the Original Arsenio Hall show didn't end in 1994 how it would fit into the mid-1990s TV landscape into the 21st century?.
