Who will be first?

Who will be the first local client to have his commercial heard on the CBS Sports Station?

Who will be the first national client heard?

Who from WKNR's list will be heard on 92.3 in the first few weeks?

As much as I loathe their advertising campaign - moreso, the highly annoying centerpiece of it - I would guess Progressive Insurance would be 92.3's first national client under a sports format. Only makes sense, being the Indians play at Progressive Field.

First national client, I guess, will be whatever is on Westwood One's spot load during the 6am hour that Monday. WKNR ran the hourly spot loads for WW1-distributed "CBS Radio News" for years after they dropped their top-of-the-hour newscasts, so it shouldn't be shocking to anyone.

As much as I can't stand Mike D'Mato, Nissan of North Olmsted will be one of the first local adverts. And they are a prolific advertiser, so it makes sense.

I don't know about that...

N of N.O. is a Munch client. Mr. Bishop doesn't go to the little boys room without name dropping Mike D'Amato, and Afternoon R&R does their show from there every Thursday (Reghi is also a major spokesman for "Coach D's" place).

D'Mato does advertise on the CC and CBS stations. Not as prolific as on WKNR, and he won't have as cozy a relationship with them as with Munch, but he'd be an idiot not to advertise on 92.3. (Of course, there is the Triv-told urban legend that the Cablevision-era WKNR refused to take BW3 as a client because it sounded too much like "3WE." ;))

I chuckle at Joe Bees. That is all I will say about that.

Maybe a spot left over from "Radio 92.3", if they had any spot load to speak of? :) Remember, they're starting this thing two days before the end of the month.
