Who will be the first to play Christmas Music and when

It's "Rock-tober" which means only one thing in the world of radio - when will radio stations begin playing Christmas music? I am sure the head honcho's at B98.5 are already making a list and checking it twice making sure only 250 songs make it, we wouldn't want too many songs spinning, as they hope to get a jump on J93.3, The Fish and any other station that may think about jumping on the Jesus Birhday Bash Bandwagon. Of course the second it happens, Bill O'Reilly (heard locally on a station that no one has on their presents) can begin his “Christmas is Under Siege” campaign by the left-wing, liberal media (read: Jews) living in our midst’s.

I think that all those in play will go all-Christmas before Thanksgiving with at least one before All Hallows Eve.

Any takers?
Any surprises, like maybe 99X and then a flip in January?

Maybe Star 94 with their comment about not sure what they will air in the mornings from Thanksgiving to Christmas. I find it odd that they would go all christmas but I also find the announcement strange.

Probably B98.5 and the Fish. I don't think 94.9 will do it this year. ;D The Fish started the day before thanksgiving, and B98.5 the day after. If anyone else does it...it will be a flip (WAOK in 2001 went all Christmas when they flipped from gospel to news/talk).

I believe that the all-Christmas fad is wearing off. There is a lot of research showing that people are getting sick of it (In Europe, labor unions are threatening to file lawsuits claiming that all-Christmas music causes emotional distress). In most of every store and restaurant I went into from Thanksgiving to Christmas last year, their sound systems were playing normal music.

I would only see Star 94 doing so under a major rebranding (to another name and callsign), but that is highly unlikely. The comment about what Star 94 was going to do after Thanksgiving was said because they are not going to put a new show under contract until the new year starts.

I hope it isn't fading I love it when they start early.I'm hoping for November 1st but XM will put up it's Holly channel November 13th.I'm glad I have Xm but anyway I would bet Wlte in Atlanta formually Wpch will start first.

I dont know but like a lot people said Star 94 Will Probably Do All Christmas from Thanksgiving on. But one Question Do you All think that B985 will start with the Delilah Christmas Stream in Early November like Lite 94.9 Always Used to do,Usually on November 11 or so Lite Always Broadcasted Delilah's Christmas Stream around that time So do you guys think B985 Will do the same this year?? ???

I've been in radio for many years, and October's never meant all-Christmas, in my experience... ???

I think the whole stunt is more than worn out. I'm a Christian, but the first station I hear playing all-Christmas music, especially before Thanksgiving, is the first station I'll avoid for the rest of the year.

holly will sign on november 1st i think

Since Clear Channel is run by the minions of Satan, it won't be one of their stations. Probably B98. Or maybe WREK - might as well put those 100kw to good use.

have you listened to 94.9 this century?

I believe Sharlover meant 96.7, which you can't hear if you're north of I-20.

Why the hell would Star 94 go all Christmas because they're losing their morning show? Stupidest thought ever.

I think it'll be The Zone w/ Steak Shapiro.
