Who will be the lucky one to take John Bachmans weekend spot?

Just curious and have been wondering who will take his spot? Eric Phillips sometimes fills in for him? Or will they bring an outsider in? Tom Regan again? Richard Belcher? Who knows?
 
I never understood why Tom Regan left (or was demoted?) as the weekend anchor. He did quite well in my meaningless opinion. I'm curious to hear who about who will take Bachman's place as well.
 
Ha! The speculation about who will replace John Bachman reminds me of a thread when we were all wondering who would replace Amanda Rosseter when she left. It's odd that WSB makes a big deal out of changes to the weekday lineup, but they don't utter a peep about changes to the weekend lineup.

Tom Regan or Eric Phillips are certainly possibilities, but I wouldn't put it past WSB to bring in someone new. That's what they did when Erin Coleman replaced Amanda Rosseter and what they eventually did when Linda Stouffer replaced Jaquitta Williams.

But I'll also bring up the point I brought up before, which is why does WSB need a second anchor for weekend evening newscasts? Since John does Saturdays alone (of which many at 6pm are pre-empted by football in the fall), the only reason for a second anchor seems to be the full hour newscast on Sundays at 6pm. Of course that problem could be solved by airing ABC World News.
