Who will be the new players if Citadel and CC sell?

Taking from another thread, who do you think would try to move in if Citadel and Clear Channel decided to sell some stuff? Could we see Salem grab a couple of properties-one for their talk lineup, heard here in Philly on WNTP 990-an the preaching/teaching as heard on WFIL 560?

I'm surprised Entercom has nt stepped in to take WHJJ,WSKO am or fm.WEEI-FM is thier only station in Rhode Island.

If tthey were to get HJJ or SKO am.I coul see alot of WRKO simulcasting here.

I think I would be surprised if Hall didn't try to expand its footprint here, and build upon the huge success of 98.1.

Buckley might be another good fit for this market. If I'm not mistaken, they already have quite a presence in Connecticut.

Salem? 790 and 920 would make a really useful duopoly for them.

And, last (and probably least... ;D...I'm sticking to my prediction that one or both of the Cumbre/ADD Radio Group duo of 990 and 1320 will get sold off. For example, I could easily imagine Beasley making use of one of these to expand the reach of its Boston market 1330 signal.

This could be a fascinating time here in good-ole Arbitron 39.

Kenny breaks open the piggy bank and buys B101.
Rehires Bruce Palmer.

NO, I don't think Bruce is a good fit for the current form of B101.Too Rocky for him and I think he sound out of place.
I could see a Bruce Palmer Vt on WSNE though.

I know this is a thread about possible new owners coming into Providence but since we're off on the Bruce Palmer tangent I don't think B101 is too rocky for him. In spite of her former HJY image was Amy rocky? Is TSJ rocky? Some of the weekenders who have been there a while sound like they're better fits for Coast anyway. Forget Ed. He does the same schtick whether he's working classic hits, CHR, or Logan Airport radio. I think with Bruce it was more his association with an actual oldies format. Classic hits jocks are AC jocks who talk about The Police instead of Kelly Clarkson.

IF B101 ever went full blown classic rock and did it the way it should be done only the morning show and Steve Valentine would fit.

No offense, Kenny, but Bruce Palmer would have to have 100 stomachs to swallow all the pride he has to call you his boss!
