Can it be fixed? Can they find the RIGHT person to fix it? Do they have enough knowledge of LA & Oldies? Who could do the job??

I hope whoever they hire opens up the playlist even more. It sure would be great to hear "White Bird", "Roses and Rainbows" and "Sweet Cream Ladies" again on a Super Sixties Weekend.

The best oldies PD in the country is Joe McCoy, formerly of the late, lamented WCBS-FM in NY...but I wonder if he'd be willing to even consider working for Infinity after what they did to him, and to the station he'd lovingly shaped all those years from 1973 to 2005...

K-EARTH 101

Yeah, boy- just what Oldies needs: an infusion of stiff #48 hits from the 60s.

Hey Hey!! Sweet Cream Ladies peaked at #28 in 1969!! haha I remembered the name of the song but I had to check my Whitburn to refresh my memory that it was the Box Tops OMG!!
Now "Roses and Rainbows" there's a moldy oldie that didn't even make the Top 40... Danny Hutton (later of Three Dog Night) in 1965 ... I do have the single but yeh, it too was a stiff.
And White Bird???? That's a progressive rock moldie oldie that has no place on any oldies station.

The real issue is how much longer will Infinity keep the format, which is continuing to fall out of the 25/54 demos.

I know it seems to be an unpopular opinion on this board, but when I was out there on vacation a couple weeks ago, I thought KRTH sounded great! It was the station I listened to most, when I was near a radio. Oh, and I'm not over 55, I'm 21.

Re: Will there be a KRTH.

But how long was your vacation? Any station can sound fresh for a week, try three months, a year, or several years.

It is a sign of how bad the station is that the addition of a 100 or so heavily-tested titles from the 70's are added to an extremely narrow playlist, and everyone talks about how much better the station is.

The station is just marginally less horrible than it was before.
