They really dont fit the normal fm talk lineup though. I was thinking Hot Talk or Free FM type of talk.

Then you need to hire really strong local talk-talent. Know of any?

Don't say John C. Scott.

So Zorro is saying there are only TWO talk hosts worth having? And they are both far right?

You are missing several points, It's "Hot Talk" and what CBS is doing all over the country as "Free FM". Tucson is still a left leaning market isn't it? I know it always has always had more democrats than republicans registered. And didn't I hear that the City Council is now dominated by the dems?

So who says you have to have a local liberal talk show? At least not to get it started.

I say it will be 97.5 who will flip to Talk. Sooner than later.

If I were a betting girl, I'd say Talk on 97.5 because it would be complimentary to the male-oriented formats in the Citadel group.

Then I'd bet for Country on 104.1.

And I'd say they both will change within weeks.

You are on. I will further bet that both of these stations will make format flips a lot sooner than anyone thinks.

So far everyone here was wrong. Neither station has flipped to Country or FM Talk. But 104.1 did flip to become Z and it is different than it was when it was Point. However, 97.5 is still Bob. How long can they let that one go and what will it become next?

BOB is going to be FM talk before you know it.And what do you mean Country for 104.1? KIIM is obviously dominating this market--they won't even try.

I'll toss in for 5 bucks that Nothing will happen other then personality changes on 104.1, 97.5?? Thats a different ball of wax. Its good except I dont hear a passion for the station on the streets. Lamey

I know that I'm in the minority here (and I know this would never happen) but I wish some station would bring back the "beautiful music" muzak that stations used to play. I could be in the middle of a traffic jam and just flipping to one of these stations would lower my blood pressure just a little (if nothing else)...

BOB is going to switch to FM Free Talk no matter what. It's really the only format in Tucson that would get some listeners. To be honest, I don't think Z is going to change at all. They were up in the numbers and half of the numbers were for the old Point. If Z raised the other half of it then they might get at least so-so ratings.
