Who Will Fill A Position First: WAZN-AM or WNSH-AM?

If you think that it's taken forever to find a paht-time staffer at WAZN-AM, consider
30,000-watt WNSH-AM 1570 in Beverly. They've been trying to hire a sales weasel
for a month or more by CONSTANT ads on its own programming! Hmmmm...they're
already cutting back on 30K hours as the days shorten, and they carry programming not
on just about anybody's radar except Laura Ingraham. Sounds like a golden career
opportunity to me (not).

The issue here is not to hire just anybody - but to bring in the right person.
My part-timer, who left in search of full time work, was a young, enthisiastic guy.
He wanted his chance to get some experience in the business of radio. I had told him
a number of times: I brought him in mostly because he reminded me of me
at the same age. I heard from lots of other people who were older and had more experience,
but they did not have the same level of enthusiasm that he had. Not to even mention
the divas who believe their own publicity...

If somebody wants to get some real world experience in the radio business, I will be
glad to meet with them...

My bet is on WAZN getting their employee first. There are absolutely no younger sales animals out there willing to work at any other place than a hot music station.
