Who will flip next?

I was just reading the NEPA board about the new 105 the river. It got me thinking. markets with more stations seem to flip stations more often than the Lehigh Valley.(harrisburg, Ny, Philly, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton) I believe the last FM flip here was the hawk in 2001.( with the exception of the tweaking and name changes at 100.7) Any speculations on why?
-Are stations in the valley set in their ways too much and afraid to try new things?
-is it because theres only 5 major FM's?

I've lived in this area for 7 years and it still blows my mind that the radio market is so small and also why we are not our own tv market. I understand why.(we are philly TV market and as far as radio goes there are no open frequencys). There are just too many things that don't make sense.
-- I was reading the Philly Tv Board and someone mentioned that the reason why there are no network affiliations is bacause the philly stations fight it saying the signals reach 45 to 50 miles. I challenge anyone in the valley with the exception of the people on the high hilltops to put a set of rabbit ear antenna on their set and try to get a clear picture on channels 3 or 6. Its B.S. if you ask me.
--If we are in the philly tv market, then why not the philly radio market? I'm not saying we should be in the philly radio market, I'm merely curious as to why we are not.

-----Sorry to ramble on. Comments anyone?

I agree that Allentown/Reading should be its own television market, but as for radio, traditionally, radio markets are much smaller than their television counterparts. A good example would be the Boston (TV) DMA. While Worcester and Manchester are grouped into the television market, they each are individual radio markets. Same in Philly where ABE is on its own radio wise.

i'd doubt that allentown/lehigh valley would ever have network tv stations.as for a radio station fliping next??? a few more years down the road perhaps.the way radio is now in the valley seems to be working.i hope and pray no jack-fm format comes here.there's only 4 stations i listen to.not all at the same time....on AM-oldies 1470-WKAP[most of the time!] and 1400-WEST.on FM-999 THE HAWK and SOFT ROCK 100.7[when brian mckay is on].ooops make it 5. sports monster 1230.only for yankees and jets games.at night i'll listen to buffalo's KB 1520.one thing i'm very happy about is that the oldies format is still going strong in the valley.can't hear dick bartley anyplace else!!! so a format flip well say 2010.but to what???

Re: Who will flip next?-just to add.
