BW, this parody is awesome. Thanks!
Also, it sounds just like KODJ FM in Salt Lake City which is interesting.

I thought it was awesome too, in the heat of the radio conglomerazation and Clear Channel's smugness at the time. KJR-FM with the way they sounded NEEDED their butt kicked. If nothing else got through to them - THIS did.
Yuppie ideas from the '80s & '90s didn't work then. They STILL don't.
KJR-FM would now do better to try and better KBSG. If not, just change the damn format altogether to something less BORING. Ever since they let JJ Hemingway go - NOBODY I know has listened to KJR-FM ever since.
KJR-FM Version 1.0 sounded a LOT more authentic than the Clear Channel version.

Well, Actually...
Clear Channel/Boise took KTLB-FM "Kool/Oldies 104.3" and consulted it into the ground. After purchasing the station, they decided it would be a good idea to tweak a station that was #1, 12+ 6a-12a Sat-Sun..."This Boise playlist with Motown and Crazy Hippie Music will never work; Let's replace it with Salt Lake City's playlist and change all the station elements to give this Oldies station a little more class..."
Less than a year later, KTLB dropped out of the Top 5 stations. Two years later, KTLB Flipped to Country! That's the Clear Channel brain trust for you!
Yes, Don't let Clear Channel get a hold of your Oldies station. They will homogenize it. Make sure there's no Black artists or hippie music on the station and tell you that nothings changed.
Good "Oldies" isn't a "local" format anymore. It's a network playlist. It's a satellite service.

You used quotation marks in there. Who did you quote as saying that?
nwoidaho said:The exact quote was from Brad Chambers, the West Coast Oldies Operations guy AND the Salt Lake Oldies PD. Around 10 years ago or so.

Given you're quoting and paraphrasing a statement (say what?!) that was supposedly said 10 years ago, and how you got the call letters wrong (they were KLTB), it tells me the likelihood of the "quote" being either misquoted or flat-out wrong.
