As I posted merely minutes ago....(see Yet Another Format idea)

Movin' 99.7, with Rick Dees (syndicated) in the morning.

are you watching me ? lol

actually was probably posting that about the time you made yours but i went to lunch before i hit enter

Is there actually a company smart enough to do that Memphis format change with Dees in the morning? That would be something!

The market is too urban and too divided. It would be no different than had a Jack signed on here. On and gone in a year. In some markets Movin' is a great idea. I just believe that Memphis is far too fragmented to support it. The black population would never go near it, and the whites would find it too rhythmic. Why do you think Mainstream CHR never works here? Same deal.

Besides, it would be Movin 94.1 long before 99.7. That would be a great compliment to the cluster, IMHO.

But then again, does 92.9 have anything to lose at this point? Maybe it's them.

Moving is after the same demo as Kim basically but I could listen to Movin and Kim makes me feel like I'm on a bad date.

Even though KOAI was the highest rated CBS station in Dallas, they never really had the revenue success that KVIL or even Jack had there, hence the flip. The demos were skewing older on KOAI, and they struggled 25-54. WJZN was a Here in Memphis, WMC-FM actually right now is the top 25-54 station in the new Entercom cluster, and is still billing in the Top 3. One could make the arguement that WRVR should go Movin', since they are not as strong in demo, and are considerably older in their median age. Especially since WMC-FM is still bringing in very attractive demos for advertisers. Although, after saying that, I personally think it's ridiculous. WRVR+WMC is a huge advantage now to Entercom, and much more attractive to advertisers as a cluster buy, much moreso than WRVR+WMBZ ever were. Entercom should, and will, make moves to compliment their two cash cows. It's all about the Benjamins.

Even after that, I still think Movin' may or may not work here, due to the demographic and competitive issues. If anything, KIM had a chance to prove that Movin' could work here, and they didn't see it either. Besides, in my years here, Memphis has never been much of a "format of the month"-type market.

Movin' 107.5? ;)

Thanks for the demo and billling info on 100. I've been wondering.

FM 100 was the top biller forever here, even with less than stellar ratings. Any idea when that changed?
