Who will get the new CW network??

Who will get the new CW network for Tallahassee Florida??

As it right now the CW affiliates list didnt do Tallahassee Florida yet between WFXU/WTLF-DT(WB) and WCTV-DT (UPN). My best guess for the new CW network for Tallahassee is WFXU/WTLF-DT b/c they have the most household market as 1.they are on DIRECTV/DISH 2.Comcast Cable 3.HDTV... For WCTV-DT they run thier UPN on 1.Comcast Cable. 2.HDTV none on DIRECTV/DISH. I have Directv and the local channels of Tallahassee..

Another poster mentioned that WCTV had just purchased Valdosta UPN WSWG with plans to put CBS on 44-2. This leads me guess that WCTV will have CBS primary with CW on 6-2 and sister station WSWG will have CW primary and CBS on 44-2. Why? Because both WCTV and WSWG cover and are on cable in the Albany, Georgia market while WTLH/WFXU isn't. Albany doesn't have any channels available for CW.

Also note that CW affiliates haven't been announced for anyone in North Florida.

Tallahassee has a couple of options.
Pananma City has only WBIF 51 available unless they use a DT sub channel
Jacksonville has several options
Pensacola has several options
Maybe Fort Walton will get a CW affiliate too. They have 4 full power tv stations and none of them are affiliated with a network.

Will the CW pay for air time or will the stations be paying the network?
Edited by poledo on 02/01/06 03:12 PM.

If the new CW network goes to WCTV then I wont be happy for that b/c WCTV-DT UPN is not on DIRECTV and DISH NETWORK. I don't have comcast b/c I live in the woods where isnt cable. I have DIRECTV with tallahassee's local channels and WFXU is on there for the WB network. So my guess WFXU get the CW network. In fact WVAG/WSWG-tv doesnt cover the tallahassee area b/c thier singal is weak. I cant pick up WBIF-TV out of Panama City their singal is weak too like WVAG/WSWG. So it kind of like 50/50 here for the tallahassee market for the new CW network. Can't Albany GA. cant pick up WLGA in Columbus, Georgia (UPN)or WGMN in Macon, Georgia (UPN). In Valdosta Ga. WSWG in Valdosta, Georgia (UPN) (Gray Television)
Reason: No over-the-air WB in the Tallahassee (licenced) or Albany (serving) markets. A possibility does exist of the station going to CBS (which one of WSWG-DT's subchannels is airing) though. My guess WFXU-TV/WTLF-DT for the new CW network.

No one knows, yet.

All we really know is that Tallahassee has no full market analog stations to offer the CW network. In my mind that makes all their stations equal. WCTV is a powerhouse that can offer a simulcast of a digital sub-channel on WCTV-6 and analog coverage on WSWG-44. Fox-49 can offer simulcast partners WTLF-DT and analog WFXU. WTXL and WTWC are also capable of offering digital sub-channels and WTXL already has a history with the WB network.

I still believe that WCTV has the best chance because they have extended cable coverage in the Albany market. Their parent company Grey Television also owns THE Albany tv channel WALB NBC-10 and WSWG UPN-44 already has cable coverage in Albany and most all of South West Georgia. Albany doesn't have any channels to offer the CW except digital subs on WALB and WFXL and already relys on WCTV for CBS and WTVM for ABC so I don't see Albany geting their own CW affiliate unless it's cable only like the WB 100+ network.

I'm sure whoever winds up with CW will get cable and satellite coverage, if they don't already have it. September is a long way away.

Will DIRECTV and DISH NETWORK will add a CW network like the national PAX network if Tallahassee doesnt work with the CW network??
