WHO WILL GO ALL-CHRISTMAS FIRST? WODS OR WROR?

Not Boston-area, however according to Fybush.com

"Three NERW-land stations tied for the title of "first all-Christmas flips" when they kicked off November by going 24/7 holiday music: in the Albany market, both Clear Channel's WTRY (98.3 Rotterdam) and Townsquare's WBZZ (105.7 Malta, now "Santa 105.7") made the flip Monday morning, as did Equity Communications' WEZW (93.1 Wildwood Crest) on the Jersey shore. "

WOW!

[Al banging head against wall...]

Mike Roberts fired up his internet/app all Christmas channel on LiteFavorites.com today if you need a early dose of holiday cheer.

Just let me know who flips a station so I can delete them from my pre sets until January.

Heh, supposedly down in Philly they are complaining that B-101 didn't switch on Nov. 1st "like they always have" (NOT!)!

Many upset with B-101

::) ::) ::) ::) ::)

They'll both go Christmas at the same time. As soon as one goes Christmas, the other is poised to go Christmas a minute later.

It's enough to make the Scrooge in me come out. Time to change those pesky presets once again. I wonder how many people who erase the presets of the Christmas never come back? (Hmmmmm.............?)

I DO love Christmas, don't get me wrong. But a steady two month diet of it is a little more than I care to take. (Bleah!)

How many non-radio geeks even listen to two or three other stations that aren't already in their presets? I'd imagine the average WMJX/WODS listener who finds Christmas music a turn-off will just listen to whatever's on their other presets for the next two months. Either that or pop a CD into the player or listen to the iPod. When Dominick the Donkey stops braying and Snoopy's truce with the Red Baron is over for another year, they'll start punching the 106.7 or 103.3 button again.

I saw a posting by Paula Street on facebook today and she said she was going to play Santa Clause is Coming to Town in 20 minutes. Has WODS been throwing in occasional Xmas tunes already?

They've been doing a contest where you call in for money when they play any version of Santa Clause is Coming To Town. The various versions of that song have been the only one played.

I heard that ad, too. For some reason I would think it could be next week when it starts...around Veteran's Day (next Thursday) though who knows --you could have this scenario, say, at WODS

--"Quick, get the PD! I heard 'Rudolph' on WROR just now, oh no! Now they're playing 'Little
Drummer--'"

--"Oh bleep! That's it, WE go Christmas RIGHT now!"*

*--though prob it wouldn't get to the point where the second song is detected--they may jump
when they catch the FIRST one!

File under (song from musical Mame) "We Need a Little Christmas, right this very minute..."
(Related: sorting mail last night I saw someone is sending a bunch of Christmas cards. Yes.
First week of November. It's...starting..

do they always flip??? I don't remember so. Maybe it's a sign of a new format after the holidays????? Stay tuned

do they always flip???
I don't think they do but I may be thinking of PLM/99.1. As I remember it they might have been a late-Dec. holdout in the past. But I think today's flip might be a Ma record.
They are sticking with some Seacrest cuts among the xmas tunes.

Will Coast still Play Matty's show ?
I hope whenever the first person to hear X-Mas music on a Boston station in 2010 posts they start a new thread
WPLM always does the 12 days of Christmas.

I was in the Burlington Mall this afternoon ( Sunday 11/7) and there was a big WROR banner touting the all Christmas format, so it must be arriving any day now.
