WRCH never goes All-Christmas. I doubt they ever will. For the past few years they've had 6 or 7 hour blocks of all XMAS Music on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in December. They Call it the Christmas Shopping Special. Plus they do the regular 36 hours of XMAS Music. From 12PM Christmas Eve until 12AM December 26. (That dates back to their days as a Beautiful Music Station). Actually if you want to get technical it's probably like 41 hours of XMAS Music becuase they carry Delilah form 12AM-5AM and I believe Delilah has a XMAS Music Verison of her show.
The River 105.9 did an All Holiday Music Weekend Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving Week last year. I call it Holidya Music because they threw in that Adam Sandler Chaunackh (sp?) Song. No offense to the Jews, I just can't spell your holiday.
I think Star 99.9 will be the first in the State. And I predict New London's Soft Rock 106.5 will flip shortly there after.
In the Hartford market its Lite 100.5 WRCH but they go all Christmas on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They play Christmas songs like after two regular songs after Thanksgiving or so and during the weekends they start in the afternoon and end at 5pm with all Christmas Music. Other then that maybe WDRC could go Christmas with oldies such as what Oldies 103.3 does in Boston.
