Who will go Christmas First?

Will there be any new Christmas stations this year, and with B98.5 drifting towards a new format, will they make the switch? When will it happen?

IIRC B98.5 gets a big ratings pop with the Christmas format, and The Fish will go Christmas, too.

Now here's an idea--could Cumulus get in the mix with one of their translators? Alternatively, going Christmas for a month is a great way to blow up a station that's going to flip to another format anyway, provided you don't step in it like CC did with The Bull and flip to the new format a week before the big day.

(Q100 will not be affected.)

Since changes are obviously afoot at Cumulus, I could see Cumulus beating everyone to the punch--flipping well before Thanksgiving, but after Halloween--and putting Christmas on 106.7, 100.5, or 97.9 as a segue to another format after the holidays. If Christmas lands on 97.9, it means that Journey just got a promotion to one of the real signals, maybe after a holiday break.

I will bet $1.00, 92.9 will finally wise up and hire Neil Millman as their PD and he will Christmas it until 12:01 AM Dec. 26th.

When Neil Millman takes over 92.9 and goes all Christmas, he will also introduce the 92.9 9-9-9 contest, in honor of our next president. Caller 9 gets $9 and a chance to win 9 nights in Washington, DC at inauguration time with accommodations on a flat bed.

It would've been nice if Journey was flipped to a better signal for Columbus Day!

Discovering that Journey was placed on a better signal would've been a discovery that I loved.
