Who will hire Bulger first?

Seems like a tailor-made bidding war between WPRO and WHJJ over who first puts Whitey on the air... maybe as Buddy's co-host? I can see it now..... Eye-Talian versus Eye-Rish in the home of the Eye-Talians! Or maybe Buddy will be eclipsed because he was only a gofer and Whitey is the real deal? PERFECT for the purient interest driven management of both stations!!!!!!!!!!

(Full disclosure: I grew up with WPRO - WHJJ when it was WJAR - have worked for both, and each was once a proud notation on my resume, both notations on my record now down-played as I shake my head slowly and explain my shame about what has happened to each)

Mark:

By any chance.....are you the same Mark Williams who once hosted an overnight talk show called "The Midnight Wind" on Fall River's 1480-WSAR.?

This would have been sometime around the time period 1979 or 1980.....around the same time that folks like Steve Kass, Henry Carreiro, Bill Silvia, and Moe Lauzier were also in the employ of 1480 WSAR.

If I remember correctly, "The Midnight Wind" came on at midnight.....immediately following "The CBS Radio Mystery Theatre", hosted by E. G. Marshall.

Of all the off-beat and odd-ball things I've heard on talk radio in these many years....one that I remember oh so very well was an elderly man who used to call "The Midnight Wind" whom you called "Bananas & Toast". I think it may have had something to do with his choice of breakfast foods... :p

Yes....I was something of an insomniac in those times... :D

Whitey can do the program from the nightclub on Winter Hill,Broadway, Somerville, Pal Joey's

He and Howie Winter frequented the club, allegedly after hours.
