Who will Jack hurt?

Would everyone agree that Jack will have the biggest impact on WPLJ? PLJs numbers could get really ugly. Looking back, should WPLJ have gone all the way with the variety hits idea to stop Infinity from doing it?

What other stations besides WPLJ do you think Jack will take audience away from?

K-Rock.They seem to all be going after the same (small)80's and 90's pop-rock loving 20 and 30 somethings.

Yes, K Rock will probably be hurt, but WPLJ will be hurt the most. If another station in New York switched to oldies, maybe that could mean a small wave of format flips.

I don't know... I'm in Jack's demo, and I'll probably be listening to 101.1 a little longer, if not for the curiosity factor.
______________

I think it hurts Q104.3 a bit, it's a very rock/pop oriented jack format. B.t.w. every Jack FM is different in all the markets where Jack is at the moment. Some play more rock, others play more 80's dance classics.

Without a Doubt...'PLJ will suffer!

I would whole-heartedly agree that 'PLJ should have gone full-fledged Jack, Paul, Suzy or whoever in an attempt to thwart this move. I have sincerely enjoyed their tweaking to date, but Now with Jack on-board it's a whole other ball-game.

I imagine people that don't like a particular song on Jack will still channel surf and end up on stations like 'PLJ, WNEW, or K-Rock to name a few. With every good song you are bound to hear a few that you don't care for...

Just my opinion!
By the way on my way to work this morning I clearly wasn't thinking and put on 101.1 to hear CBS-FM and got Blind Melon's No Rain...Ironically enough it was raining pretty damn good at that moment...LOL

WLTW perhaps??

I've been listening off and on to 101.1 out of curiosity and it would seem to me that Jack is a HOT AC format. That being said, might they night take some numbers off LITE? WPLJ will undoubtedly suffer and I'm not sure which direction they'll go in but I think LITE just may take a dip from no.1.
______________

Jack is officially classified as a "Variety Hits" format. I don't think it can dethrone Lite, at least not yet, because while some of the befuddled CBS-FM listeners will be flocking to Lite-FM, they'll want more than music they can agree with, but personality. Which Jack lacks. I mean, the voice doing liners is witty, but listeners care as much about the jocks as they do the music. In other words, if you were to put, say, Valerie Smaldone up against a jukebox, Valerie wins hands down.
______________
