Who will pick up the slack?

Now that Y-101 in Fresno has flipped to AC, which station will fill the CHR/M gap?

Wow! I guess they reverted back to an A/C type station.. 101.1 has had alot of different formats over the years, from K-FIG to Froggy Country to Modern A/C Star 101 a few years back, and then a CHR/Pop.. Kind of a surprise considering they were doing pretty descent in the ratings.. I just hope that Peak doesn't do anything to JACK up JACK..

I wouldn't hold my breath on anyone picking up the slack and adding a CHR station. These stations are just not typically profitable. Why? Too high of a teen content. Car makers, real estate, gaming; all these catagories want nothing to do with a young (broke) audience. Also, due to the high degree of "offensive" music content, many advertisers stay away from these stations. Remember, radio is not a popularity contest where every listener has the same weight. A pimply, 15 year old kid wields enormously less influence and buying power than a pimply, 25 year old college graduate. Many PD's and DJ's often forget this and it is a mortal error.
