Who will replace Bill O on KABC?

I dont know about Bill beating Rush. But, the way Citadel stock is doing, I dont think they're gonna spend any money for someone new. Most likely they'll go with somebody in syndication with ABC Radio already.

I think Al Rantell would be a good choice...he already does 11am - 11:45am...just put him on 9a-11:45 before Paul Harvey, who looks like he's about to retire, too...then...move Mark Levin to 7-10pm and hire Mr. KABC back for 10p-Mid! Problem: Solved!

Why are you still discussing this? Friday evening, Joe Scarborough announced he'd be joining KABC in a couple of months from his WABC base.

thanks for the heads up 4U8SIMBAGN....I, for one, was out having a life on Friday evening, but it doesn't mean KABC will choose to run him...or...they could delay him until 7pm....

Changes are definetly a foot at KABC, maybe sooner than we think.

I agree with Glenn's 4UH8SIMBKAGN that "Morning Joe" at 9-11 AM will not prevail over Rush, but it may be a step up from Bill O. Time will tell, but I see this as a positive, albeit not a game changing development.

Big E hints at imminent changes regarding Larry Elder in PM Drive. Again, I know some hard core loyal Elderados, but the numbers tell us there are not enough of them. My preference is compelling and entertaining radio, and while John & Ken are LARadio.com's #1 air talent in this year's vote, I believe that PM Drive is there for the taking if someone new and good comes along. Having said that, Mark Levin is certainly not the one who will emerge with the crown. I do not see his style of radio working at 10p where he is now, and I certainly do not see it working at 3p-5p or 5p-7p in place of Larry Elder.

Hard to believe there is no one that KABC can bring in new to this market who will be live and local and fresh and original and entertaining and not bombastic and not too tightly connected to any one political philosophy. Leykis was exactly that when KFI imported him more than 20 years ago from Arizona.

Didnt Levin hint at being in LA "LIVE" a couple months ago? Citadel wouldnt have to pay anything since hes already in syndication, and happens to be on 6-9p (3-6pm pt) at WABC already. I think its the obvious move for Citadel.

Effective Monday, December 15, the Monday-Friday 3-7pm slot will be hosted by Al Rantel followed by Curtis Sliwa, 7-10pm. 790 KABC will continue to air The Mark Levin Show, 10-Midnight, and broadcast an encore of the Sliwa program, Midnight-3am.

I can't see them keeping Al Rantel in afternoon drive.
