Who Will Syndicate Don Imus on Cable ?

Who if any cable outlet will pick up Don Imus when he starts up his radio gig on December 3?

Heard a lesser known and not carried on most cable systems outlet - like a farm cable station was going to carry Imus.

Guess MSNBC doesn't have the guts to go back to Imus. Would certainlty be better than Joe Scarborough in the morning.

RFD-TV has picked up a growing audience with the country music programming they run - Porter Wagoner Show, Wilburn Brothers, etc.

Actually, RFD-TV is on a number of rural and small town cable systems. I think it is fairly obvious they plan to change their format (and probably their name) since the obnoxious Imus hardly fits their present format. A shame really....

Those cable systems are primarily in the midwest.

What is this about them changing formats? To what?

Imus & RFD-TV

Here's more info on RFD-TV and Don Imus...

From Tennessean.com:

RFD-TV hopes Imus opens urban markets

On Dec. 1, RFD-TV is launching a second, separate network, RFD-HD, that will broadcast shows in high definition, including Imus in the Morning and, in January, The Crook and Chase Show, as well as Ralph Emery Live and the other shows produced at its Nashville broadcasting operations and production studios.

A shame?? At the present RFD is a weird channel devoted to Polka and Cattle Auctions. This is not GOOD television. IT actually feels like a podunk Cable Access Channel. RFD would do well to amp up their whole channel. Right now it's a joke.

RFD-TV started out as a public interest channel.

On DISH Network, they were on channel 9409; they're now on channel 231.

I had seen RFD TV when I had Dish and cared very little about it, but picking up Imus is the wrong direction to go. They claim to be filling the gap that was opened since TNN changed to Spike, but Imus is going too far. Something like Rick and Bubba, which used to be on Turner South, would be better.

Imus on RFD-TV

From RFD-TV:

Don Imus comes home to RFD-TV

The show will air live on weekdays from 6-9am (EST). Imus in the Evening, a rebroadcast of the morning’s program, will air in primetime on RFD HD from 6-9pm and will be featured on video-on-demand enabling west coast viewers and millions of fans to experience the show at their convenience.

...I know the Charter Cable systems in Western Wisconsin and Southeastern Minnesota do, for example. I believe they were also on an LP or CA terrestrial station in Des Moines a few years back, but may have left that station by now...

I watched Imus this morning on RFD. Two things that I was really disappointed in, was I thought they were going to do all four hours of the program. That's something Imus always wanted on MSNBC, but they wouldn't budge. I thought for sure that he'd insist on that with a new network. The second thing is that they censored the show. Anything "PG-13" rated or worse, they covered with dead audio. Including the word "hell". If they are worried about the show's content, they need to put a Rating on it, and/or add a disclaimer. People who listen to Imus should know that there are going to be topics discussed that get a little raunchy and he does tend to drop some coarse language. RFD needs to address that, or people like myself will just listen to it on WABC's website.

I noticed that on his first day. I recorded the program then watched it in the afternoon. At first I thought it was a problem with their audio (Don did mention the problem on-air). But as I watched more of it, it came to me that RFD-TV was doing its own censoring.

They don't allow "hell" to be said on their network...pathetic!

This is 2007, not 1957.
