Who Would Sound Great on a Local-Oriented Talk Station?

Let's pretend that WEMP 101.9, or some other station in New York with a full-market signal decided to flip to local talk (this is purely hypothetical-I have absolutely no information this is actually in the works). Perhaps it would sound somewhat similar to New Jersey 101.5.
Who should be hired (that would actually be available) to provide stimulating conversation on issues of interest to people living/working in this area?
 
Off the top of my head I would have to say Jay Diamond as he would be perfect for FM talk.

I'm not so sure about the "who" at this point, but I'd like to comment on the "what". I occasionally listen to 101.5 in the afternoons and their topics are hardly local. They are usually stale, generic topics that have been beaten to death over the years. For example I have heard countless segments about airport security and a discussion on what listeners have been caught with in the security line. I have also heard topics like who does the grocery shopping in your family, and are men bad at grocery shopping. Again, not exactly riveting talk radio, and certainly not topics on local issues.

I can't agree with you more, friends, ever since Walter Sabo left NJ101.5 WKXW-FM radio many topics have been lame and not local. The latest M/S/U ratings have the station sinking down into the 4's with their cume steadily dropping month after month.

MedianJ (a.k.a. Walter Sabo) resurfaces! It's funny that we hardly ever heard from you while you were working at WEMP. Now you're back! So, since this is the New York City board, let's stay on topic:what do you think of the current direction of that particular station? Do their weak ratings have something to do with the fact that you're not with them any more?
