Who Would You Ban From TV?

they not have enough time (or newsprint or webspace) to say (or type) both names?
Anything they can do to squeeze in more commercials. Like TBS cutting the theme songs from both Saved by the Bell and The Fresh Prince.
You may have something there. I've tried whistling along with the Andy Griffith Show theme when I've seen the credits roll (on my local Fox affil), only to notice that it's an edited version of the theme!

To add a name that I haven't seen here already (maybe he has been mentioned, but I just didn't see it), Levi Johnston! Or as I call him, Levi Palin! Don't go away mad, Levi; just go away!

And I saw mentions of Billy Mays posted here (before his death), but I recently saw one of his old commercials on TV again! I don't even remember what product it was for, or where or when I saw it, but the ghost of Billy Mays still haunts us!

How did I miss this thread when it first came out? Anyway, here's my list of people (or programs of any type, including commercials & infomercials) that I would like to see banned from TV:

Ellen DeGeneres (never liked her as I don't find her funny at all. How did she ever become a comedian?)

Jerry Springer

Rachel Ray

Paul Konrad from the WGN Morning news (He's not funny, nor is his weather forcasts accurate. Tom Skilling tends to be more accurate, and I believe would fit in with the morning show better than Paul Konrad does)

Kevin Trudeau (biggest scam artist out of all people on infomercials)

Chris Crocker (Though he isn't on TV as much as some of the others, he's a serious crybaby, and doesn't deserve to be on TV, or the internet)

CBS 2 Chicago News (weak signal has been their excuse for years, but their news sucks, and I don't believe they should be in the news.)

Jay Leno (He doesn't deserve to return to The Tonight Show, as he gave up on the show, and NBC gave him his own show to keep him. Now Conan is paying the price for NBC's mistake, and Jay's being a brat about wanting to go back to late night TV. I hope his return to the Tonight show, as sources say will happen, will flop. I lost all respect for Jay & NBC. I rarely watch NBC these days, even before this)

While Billy Mays might be dead, the infomercials & commercials he's in live on, and wish they would go away. His voice is that annoying. If he spoke like that in real life too, I felt sorry for those who had to be around him.

Lady Gaga (looks like a tramp)

Britney Spears (No explanation needed)

Excessive ads for any prescription medicine (costs might be lower if there weren't excessive ads for it)

I might add more later. For now, this is all I can think of that should be banned (whether person, or TV ad).

Anyone on "Showbiz Tonight"
I was watching Showbiz Tonight hoping they would have some have in-depth discussion about the NBC late night turmoil as their lead segment, but they didn't. At least "The Insider" had some very interesting debates on it, but I can't stand Niecy Nash!

Locally, I would ban the news on KTVF Channel 11 (except for Mike Shultz). They may have gotten a new set and graphics, but it's still a joke compared to back in the day when they were more watchable and respectable with Ann Secrest, Jim Pound, Cindi Creager, Charles Fedullo, Bob Johnston, the late Chuck Hinde, Jan Bartlett, Carla Browning, and Curtis Thomas among others sharing the anchor desk over the years. And that Billie Sundgren (their News Director/sometimes anchor)? She looks like Gwyneth Paltrow's older sister!!

I prefer KXD, because they're locally-owned and they still have a two-anchor newscast (Bob Miller (formerly of KTVF) and Amy Chausse).

I unfortunately had to see his Jupiter Jack ad playing over and over while waiting in line at a Walgreen's in New York in the fall. I have bad hearing and I could hear the ad all over the store. When Billy called his agent or whoever it was and was still yelling, it looked pretty obvious he talked that way in real life.

He was still on camera. In real life, he might have been docile as a lamb. ;)

Pat Robertson for shooting off his mouth again saying Haiti got what they deserved because they signed a pact with the devil some years back.

Palin, Robertson, Beck and Hannity I don't like them hijacking the RNC.

Lawyers, laxative and toe fungus commercials when I'm eating, Ross the Intern, Cojo and Richard Simmons (no I'm not a homophobe, I just don't like the sissy act. they need to grow a pair) That guy with the pony tail that advertises the skiing exercise machine, the guy that invented screen clutter, The weatherman that interupts my show with a tornado watch 100 miles away, Ellen Degenerate (not funny can't dance), the entire casts of "Saved by the Bell" and "Degrassi", plus more than I can remember.

Sportscasters who are real "homers', but get put on a national feed and still talk up their local team.

Again--------The Cincinnati Bengals

Mark McGuire

Mike Tyson

Howie Long intimidating people in Chevy commercials

Tim McCarver

Wow, surprised nobody said Wanda Sykes.

Agree with the Olbermann banners, and I'd add Rachel Maddow and Chris "Tingles" Matthews to the list.

And to be fair and balanced, also Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Shepard Smith.

MTV and VH1 entire line up.
Shows TV LAND burnt to a crisp Andy Griffith, Roseanne, and Cosby
I second the vote for JIMMY FALLON.

I saw that Rosie O'Donnell got a mention here back the first time this thread was active, but I must ask:

1) Why does her name get mentioned for every TV show vacancy that comes along? Didn't they learn their lesson from The View?

2) Why does she offer up her opinion on every celebrity topic that comes up? Even on the rare occasion that I might halfway agree with her, I still find her highly annoying!

3) And why, on the rare occasion that she doesn't force her opinion on us, does some celebrity "journalist" (paparazzi) seek out her opinion on something? (Like the Tiger Woods scandal, for instance)

1. She's there, and the talkers have to talk about something.
2. She's there, and she feels like sharing, and the talkers feel like listening.
3. She's there, and the talkers feel like listening and telling us about it.

If she wasn't there, there would be no problems! ;D

Larry King
Greta van Susteren
Anderson Cooper
Dr. Oz
"The Doctors"
Zachary Levi, if only for being in that Chipmunk movie
Soap actors and anybody on those ABC "chick shows" - Greys, Desperate Housewives, Private Practice, B&S, Ugly Betty
Rappers
Al Roker

For Pittsburgh viewers:
Marty Griffin
Kristine Sorenson
Wendy Bell
Jon Fedko
John McIntire
Bill Green
Ruth Ann Dailey
Mike Pintek
Jennifer Antkowiak
anybody named Steigerwald
Lynn Cullen

Add to that list the Joe's Crab Shack with the entire family repeating "oh s***"!

Excuse me for being two years late to the party. Now, for my top ten (in no particular order of importance):

1. NBC (the whole damn network, except for Days of Our Lives)
2. The 700 Club (featuring the ultimate bigot of bigots, "Pat" Robertson)
3. Jay Leno
4. American Idol (it's so fixed, come on now)
5. MTV (the whole damn channel)
6. VH1's "Celebreality" shows
7. Bravo (the whole damn channel, except for Inside the Actor's Studio)
8. The squeezing or total elimination of closing credits at the end of programs
9. Pop-up ads during shows
10. The Kardashian sisters, Tila Tequila, Spencer & Heidi, and other reality TV whores who haven't realized their 15 minutes of fame is down to its last half-minute
