Who woulda thunk it?Indie 1-0-3-1 will be 4 yrs old in december.

They are still around i am so very happy but surprised. But at times the radio gods can be pleasing. The station must do something right. They did get a write up in rolling stone magazine in the summer of 2006.
I do miss the stoner slacker dude who was the voice of indie but other then that it is a great station. It is so surprising a commercial station like this exists in the country today. So mamny alts try to marry active/alt and fail in the process i think.A person that likes beck does not want to here seether!!!I don't anyway.

Later guys and gals

And in Indie Parent Entravision news they just announced they will sell their Outdoor business and FOCUS on the Hispanic market.

Bianco500 reads that simple: Indie is on borrowed time and only in exsistance as Entravision has nothing better to program that will fit their agenda and get ratings and they can't sell 103.1 unless they take a HUGE loss.

Basically, enjoy it while it lasts.

I havent been back to these boards in a long time, but it seems to me that people have been saying "Enjoy it while it lasts" about Indie 103 for the past 4 years now.

Indie is the BEST rock station in the country by far.

Happy 4th anniversary :D

I hope by some miracle they get to celebrate many more.

Been listening online here in Connecticut since the beginning. This is by far the best station anywhere ever...long live indie.

So true.

Guess it means to take what these "experts" say with a grain of salt! LOL

By the way, to the original poster, the slacker dude was, IMO, the lamest thing about Indie 103. Thank God he was jettisoned.

Now if they can get rid of their horrendous afternoon DJ, "TK", the station will be perfect. Guy is still yelling and trying way too hard.

Jonsey is of course the best, and the specialty shows rock.

Let's look forward to an Indie 103 10th Anniversary for all three to four hundred loyal listeners! :)

I emailed the station about what happenend to the original voice of indie he told me that they wanted to employees of indie to do all the voice work.I do not find tk bad at all. When i come home to my hometown and visit and listen to the horrendous fake alt station here wlrs they have this awful jock just awful. He sounds like he has smoked all his life but radio one had owned the station so what can you expect. Radio one just sold the louisville cluster so we shall see but my point being there is far worst jocks out there. But indie has the tuneage think down thats what keeps me jamming on the indie 1031.

Congratulations to Indie, but lest we forget FM 94/9 in San Diego (the station Indie pretty much molded itself on) just turned FIVE years old this month. While they have a better signal than Indie's combo, they're another alternative station no one thought would be around for birthday number one. Somebody's listening.

Socal for the most part does the alternative radio thing right. Okay rest of the country you all could learn a thing or two from indie 1031 91x fm 94.9 and even kroq especially its sister station in nyc 92.3
