WHOK Translator: No Move?

Just saw on today's FCC Daily Digest the app for moving W272AT to 94.1 was rescinded. Anyone with more info?

Or does anyone care?

I didn't even know. Where do you find this digest by the way?

I think I did see that 104.3 was denied a tower move from Route 4 to Galloway.

It looks like the FCC just granted the move by accident before it had really intended to do so. The application wasn't rescinded, just the FCC's grant. It doesn't look like this means much of anything. The move may happen, or it may not. The FCC probably just wants more time.

Is 102.3 down? I didn't hear it at all when we were driving by downtown Columbus on Wednesday. Even within sight of what I believe is its stick...

The translator on 102.3 has been silent for a few months if I remember. It broadcasted from one of the WBNS TV Towers located on Twin Rivers Drive (near I670/315) near Downtown.

I'm kind of glad it's been down for a while. That means 102.3 WFXN out of Galion comes in a lot further towards Columbus.

Hopefully 102.3 Galion will come in just strong enough to scare the Columbus rock market into doing something worthwhile haha. It's kind of sad to see a good programmed station restricted to 3500 watts. Put that programming on a 50K and you'll have a nice big audience. Any reasons why 102.3 couldn't increase power? 102.1 Lima too close? I do notice at times while driving to Kenton up route 31 that 102.3 comes in nice in clear, and then 102.1 starts interfering. You can tell that 102.3 still wants to come in strong, but 102.1 kills it.

I would love to see 102.3 move south, maybe a little towards Mount Gilead or even Delaware. Put it on a bigger stick and you could still hit the Mansfield area and possibly steal a little share from Columbus. WVNO 106.1 is a 40K and I get it clear throughout Union county, and it's stick is just west of Mansfield. Any open signals around Delaware that 102.3 could move to?

Here's the problem with your whole scenario: Columbus is overloaded with bad rimshots, and even a moved 102.3 would be yet another one.

I don't think with 102.5 baltimore, 101.7 Newark (soon New Albany) and 102.3 Wilmington that 102.3 Galion can move anywhere closer to Columbus really.
