Whole lot of PSA's on KFYI lately.....

Heard the nearly bald one being his usual smarmy self today, poking fun at Al Jazeera America which is a day old and, evidently doesn't have a lot of advertising.

But, in the last month or so, I noticed a whole lot of PSA's at KFYI burning up those valuable commercial minutes.

One eight hundred cars for kids... K A R S cars for kids...

Smokey Bear commercials, etc.

Barely There sure does throw a lot of rocks from his glass house....

I'm all but certain that Kars4Kids is paid advertising; the same would probably apply to any other car-donation outfit.

KTweetAR runs Kars4Kids too...plus other PSA's. Whether they're paid for or not is hard to determine. But if you don't like Kars for Kids...you probably don't like Kids, also. They have a tendency to run across the lawns of cranky R-D posters.

I really don't like the "we're proud to build etc." spot for a certain home builder. Most. Annoying. Get Off My Bloomin' Lawn. Spot. Ever.

Even if the intensely annoying KARS cars for kids is paid, you gotta admit, lots more PSA's.

I listen on line a bit, but frequently OTA in my car, and the same commercials with the kid discovering the redwood tree, the guy who played Puddy on Seinfeld doing the forest ranger and the talking banana slug telling the kid to rediscover the forest all get plenty of over the air play.

As for paid ads, one of the nutty gold sellers (wait..they ALL are nutty), is starting to do conspiracy commercials...visit the website to find out what "THEY" are hiding from you, etc... And of course, you have the other nutty gold seller (the one who is run by the felon who stole from his father) having Barely, Jim and Broomhead repeating the same old "a 20 dollar gold piece could buy you a nice suit" baloney....

Could be worse...like the Sal DiCiccio ads that are voiced by some one that really sounds a lot like screechy Terry Gilberg..

Why wouldn't KFYI play songs instead of PSAs? Wouldn't it be more entertaining to pass the time until the show returns than the same ole PSAs?

Because you can only hear "God Bless the USA" or Ted Nugent so many times before you want to scream and turn off the radio?

Someone must have a license up for renewal and that means that you have to show that you're still serving the "public interest". What better way to do this than to throw on a bunch of PSAs, "hey, we care! Just look at all these ad council PSAs we're running".

Kars for Kids is, indeed, a paid advertisement.

Not as bad as that 960 "the patriot" promo that runs 8 times an hour. It is well-done, but give me a break, Dennis Preago and the lawyer Hewitt go on and on. Can't they do another one or 2? Everyone is spinning, left and right.

Limpbaugh is off wabc because he is going to Clear Channel WOR, okay, but what about other markets? KGO/KSFO etc? for example. 4 people to do the Barry Young show?? Most businesses would not have that kind of overhead for the revenue they bring in. Can Cheezeburgers and hotdogs support a radio station? or termite companies? those sponsors are not enough to keep the on-air people in Rogaine.
