WHOM Now playing all Christmas

If my memory is correct then WZID should flip this weekend. It's interesting that for 2 years now Clear Channel won't have a station playing Christmas music in either Boston or northern New England.

Also gone christmas in the last few days in Maine: WCTB Fairfield, WEZQ 92.9 Bangor, 102.5 WQSS Camden, 103.1 WZON Dover/Bangor (AM side still running LibTalk), 900 WCME Brunswick & WHOU Houlton is running Christmas on the weekends...

Hasn't WZID only done Christmas at night and maybe weekends in the past? I know it's shown up on all Christmas stations lists, but I've then heard them playing their normal music during the day during the week.

I hadn't heard WHOM since last Christmas (not an AC listener) & I'm very disappointed in their Christmas format this year. I listened all day last season from here in Pennsylvania because I couldn't find a station with better Christmas imaging - the 'radio home for the holidays' jingles, bright midday show with requests by Sandra Harris, a variety of songs including some out of the ordinary - songs from the Rudolph cartoon soundtrack, Maine Christmas Song, etc. & other imaging made me feel like I was celebrating the season in Northern New England, a favorite vacation spot. This year there is hardly any imaging, repetitive music, no jingles, no live personality, and the inane interruptions of the recordrd John Tesh commentaries. Very boring, no New England/local feel, a very borning cookie-cutter generic station playing the same songs over & over. Looking for a new favorite somewhere in 2012, so far all the Christmas stations sound the same - boring jukeboxes. No reason to not just listen to my ipod for Christmas music.

There's apparently nobody minding the air product. At least they're not pay attention to dated commercials playing long past their shelf life.

And yes,it IS boring.

I don’t see how anyone is surprised with the snooze fest of Christmas music that WHOM it putting out for the holidays. The station itself has been bland and unimaginative and cookie cutter for quite a while now.

As I said, the last I heard WHOM was last Christmas day, I don't care for the regular format. But sometime since then they dropped the jingles & replaced a live local midday show with John Tesh, who sounds like an interruption of programming rather than a midday show to me. I had taped some of the programming last year & it was so much better programmed then. Lots of stations play the same short Christmas song list over & over, but it can be so much better with a good Christmas jingle package like WHOM used last year (some adult singers & some with children singers), imaginative liners ("like eggnog for your ears, the Christmas music on WHOM..."), some classic Christmas tv & movie snipets, & last year there were mentions about events happening in the Mt. Washington Valley - as I said, I listened because it reminded me of good times in Maine & New Hampshire, but this year it sounds like Christmas radio anywhere USA.
