WHOM's Dean Rogers

did you catch the Futures at Fenway games on Saturday on NESN? overheard during the Portland Seadogs / Harrisburg Senators game was WHOM Morning Legend Dean Rogers doing the Fenway Park P.A.!!!

Dean's been doing the Hadlock P.A. since the Seadogs started in Portland, but to get "the call up" do to a game through the sound system once employed by the legendary Sherm Feller ??? to me, that's almost too cool for school! i'm impressed - and jealous!! ;)

well done, Dean-o!

Dean was pretty thrilled to get the opportunity. I begged him for pictures, but I think he forgot his camera! Doh!

Dean Rogers--the classiest guy in Portland radio. A major market talent in a small market. We'll all better off because of it.

Definition of Dean Rogers:

....CLASSY GUY, EXCELLENT BROADCASTER and A REAL PERSON!

Wouldn't it be great if a few of his 'competitors' followed his example? 8)

I don't know--wouldn't it be great if a few of the "unemployed in radio" thought they didn't have ALL the answers? ???

I guess I must've scratched a cold sore with Underminer?? ???

Sorry to disrupt the thread....because DEAN ROGERS is a VERY GOOD BROADCASTERS. However...I doubt I'm the only contributor to this (and a few other radio-info boards) who isn't totally enthralled by the current sound of many radio stations these days?

Just to play devil's advocate with underminer...what is YOUR RADIO STATION DOING THAT MAKES IT STAND OUT ABOVE ALL THE OTHERS----aside from the possibility of making a few advertising dollars?

Are you #1 in the market? #5? Does your station show up at all? Rather than throw rocks at ME (and a few other currently unemployed broadcasters), why don't you SERIOUSLY LISTEN to the product you're offering your audience? I'll bet there are at least one or two fruit flies in your format? :D

as the late, great John L. Welford, radio sales guy and bon vivant, used to say when greeted by many:

"not in airport!"

John went by the nickname Jack. saying "hi jack" would prompt his response.

Dean Rogers is a class guy. Worked with him when he was on Oldies... he's got a wonderfully friendly manner about him both on-air and off.

Yet you keep scratching.

...and to get back ON topic

I think everyone agrees that Dean is one of the nicest guys in all of radio. I consider myself lucky to have him on the other side of the wall.
