Whooooo.... CBS!

CBS has a new morning team.... same garbage show, same liberal spin crap... OH, but new people. That will sure make a difference. I know everybody across America will tune in for new "people" doing the same show. You should have at least changed the name to "The Squirrely Show" .... :D

Hey CBS! Hire a bulldozer and push this morning show into a big ditch and then cover it up. Park the tractor on top when you are done.

Park the tractor on top when you are done.

And play reruns of Captain Kangaroo from 7-9 AM.

(Affiliates would love you for that--it would more than meet that E/I crap quota. ;D)

That's what I was going to say. Or there was the new version of the show with John McDonough. Perhaps he could do more new ones.

What was it specifically that they had a 'crappy liberal spin' on?

How about changing the channel if you don't like it that much. ;)

Somewhere out there our old buddy Captain Kangaroo is having a good chuckle over this. The curse of Captain Kangaroo marches on. I'm still mad at CBS for what they did to one of my childhood icons.

Captain Kangaroo was on the air at CBS for 29 years - that's about as close to permanent as you can get in the fickle world of television. Under the circumstances, maybe you should give CBS a pass on this one.

With all the ridiculous rhetoric from the extreme left and the extreme right, lets remember the Captain fondly, shall we?

"Always say 'please' and 'thank you'"

"Treat others as you'd like to be treated."

"Try to attend the Church of your choice this weekend."

"Schwinn bicycles. Priced slightly higher west of the Mississippi."

It's obvious that the extremists on our airwaves missed out on the lessons of the Captain, Mr Green Jeans, Bunny Rabbit and Mister Moose.

Thats ok, Mr. Keeshan. For every video and audio blowhard who has to go into snark overdrive to make a point, the majority of us resist the temptation to join them...and simply turn them off.

Thanks, Captain!

There was a time, not long ago, when morning news shows were just that...."morning news" shows. They might do some lighter topics, but they were basically news shows. With the advent of the cable news networks, the shows changed, in my opinion, too drastically. Now they are just fluffy fillers for the most part. I wonder if CBS had the balls to go hard news in the morning they might actuallly develop an audience. But I don't expect it, because everyone just copies everyone else, hoping for the best. What a disastrous recipe. They can keep tinkering with that recipe, but the results will be be the same.

I'm 43 and I'd watch!

Yes, the results will be the same, bringing in lots of cash.

The results I was referring to is a likely 3rd place finish. Again.

Why not let Katie Couric co-anchor the morning show? I'm sure she'd be a big draw in that timeslot, and it would be very interesting seeing her go up against the Today show.

What years was Captain Kangaroo on from?

If Saban's incarnation of "Captain Kangaroo" was on the air today, it would probably earn an "E/I" rating - for "excruciating" and "irritating"!

Saban?! Ugh! every anime or multi-genre convention I go to that name is brought up and the term "ill-fated" is also used but always with the proposed americanized version of "Sailor-Moon" (search youtube if you want to see why)

More of a PC-spin on it. They have their "token" hispanic woman on there, and they (her cohosts) insist on using the "hispanized" pronunciation of her name ("Mottisol"). If I were to be on a hispanic TV program, do you think they would use the anglicized pronunciation of my name? I highly doubt it.

Nothing against her. She is good, and speaks good ol' American English. She's probably from NYC or Miami. But I don't recall Maggie Rodriguez (despite her name) ever flaunting her heritage.
