As hinted first on ALL ACCESS, CLEAR CHANNEL AC WLIT/CHICAGO makes it official and announces that PREMIERE RADIO's nationally-syndicated "WAKE UP WITH WHOOPI" program will broadcast on the station's morning slot (5a-9a) effective AUGUST 14

The Bee's morning show needs some pizzaz. Have nt heard Joanie for a while so I'm not sure if thier all still talking over each other still.

I think lovefist is predicting Whoopie on Coast rather than B101. I don't know. I just don't see them going with a non-local show. On the other hand in spite of Coast sounding better they just hover around the same area numberswise and maybe with that morning show probably being an expensive one it just isn't worth keeping them. I always thought Joannie had her audience and it worked for the station. Next question is if the Coast morning crew gets the boot, what happens to them. Joan is not going to get another job unless Lite hires her for afternoons or decides to go with J&J in the morning. Chuck's her husband and probably stands a better shot at getting a radio job but in news. Brian's a big question as if CC doesn't feel the need to find something for him in that building there's nothing else in the market for him and frankly he's more of a sidekick wise-cracker than anything else. He could find something in Boston if he's networked enough but the Pharmy days are over.

As far as them talking over each other I actually think some of the bits sound prerecorded. They sound more scripted lately and I can almost here a slight pause before and after the bit as if it's canned.
 
Whoopi was just added on a smooth jazz station in San Francisco, so it looks almost like Clear Channel is looking to clear her on any station possible. BostonRadioWatch recently hinted that she could end up on progressive talker WKOXKS in market #11. Putting her on B101 wouldn't surprise me, but from listening to the demo, it seems like the show would fit well on 93.3 Coast FM (which, by the way, turned on it's HD2 channel today, simulcasting the HD1 with a 10 second delay).
 
I saw the thing about the SF smooth jazz clear and thought the same thing since the initial press release about the show said it was a Hot Ac morning show?. If they put her on KOX then you're right theyre just trying to get her wherever they can which Im sure is a stipulation in the contract that she has to be on X amount of stations to justify the money they're paying her and since Boston already has two very successful morning shows on the CC properties,..well not even Clear Channel would be dumb enough to screw that up.
 
They will find a place for her in Providence. Morning Radio has a lot to be desired in this town. They will fit her in somewhere and it will probably be a lot better than 90 percent of the crap that's heard here now.
