Whoopi on Mix

Well Clear Channel ends months of denial... and dropped the Mix Morning Show on Wednesday and as of this morning was to carry sindicated "Wake Up With Whoopi." As I listened to KTU this morning in NYC, I heard in the middle of the very first break of the morning...

Whoopi - we have a new affiliate joining us today, Binghamton
Cubby - yes Mix One Oh three three
Whoopi - Welcome Binghamton, you're joining great company... (crew throws out random names of cities with Whoopi affiliates)....

Then I didn't hear it mentioned again through the first hour until my shower. Anyone listen to Mix and here how the show flowed locally... I know in NY its seemless, even though Whoopi and Crew are presently in Vegas promoting that new Casino, and not at CC in Jersey City.

Whoopi was a bit of a novelty the first few days but then grew very tiresome. Sadly, it offers little except for babble with any real substance to it.

MIX, except for the repetition of their book, was at least local before. Now it's become boring.

In this household, after the Christmas Music, the dial will be changed.

Before Whoopie debuted on Mix I answered an ad for a morning show opportunity in "the Northeast". Turned out to be Binghamton and the PD was excited about speaking to me about the position. For several reasons I couldn't relocate to Binghamton and so passed on the opportunity. Today out of curiosity I decided to check the web site to see who DID make the move to Binghamton and what a shocker, it's Whoopie! Makes me wonder what the sequence of events was concerning the morning show and if Whoopie was thrust upon the PD, like it or not.
