They were let go today. Look for a big announcement, possibly tomorrow, as for a co-host for Whoopi. The name that's being thrown around the rumour mill is Z-100's Paul "Cubby" Bryant. True? We'll have to wait and see.jp

Nah, What wnew should definitly do is reunite Goumba Johnny with Hollywood Hamilton on the radio and put them both on 1027. To me Goumba always sounded lost without Hollywood Hamilton on the air with him.

Might not be an issue really because the music for each station will be locally generated and Whoopi will just do the breaks. My guess is that Whoopi wont know the difference between material that is geared toward a HOt ac audience and a female audience in general, they're probably just billing it as a Hot ac show because she's in her mid 50's, has not been hot career wise per se for a while, e and that older femal demo would be the only ones that she would have the most name recognition with, females 18-24 are probably barely aware of Ms. Goldberg. AS for the big announcement i saw that too, I doubt it's Cubby, if he's smart......Why give up a good thing at Z for another unproven show? who knows? she could be huge but another non radio personality being thrown into a national radio arena, yeah it's so easy! That's a shock to me about Balt and Ghoumba being let go, more Johnny than Baltazar because Ralphie Marino used to tell me that even when he was in prison, Ghoumba Johnny was the most recognized name on the station, research wise etc which is probably why they took him back when he got out. I kind of assumed that if Whoopi got a NYC affilliate it might be Lite because of the formatics of the show it being a hot ac progam and all, and Lite is actually very hip for a soft ac.
