I would like to clarify that if I had "signed" one, (rather than it just be policy), it would only have been for the duration of time I was actually working at that station... certainly not afterwards lol. Who would do that for only $6/hr? lol But yeah, they did sign me on a "part-time" clock so if I had signed one, (and it were legal??? always thought if it were in a contract and someone signed it, it was valid), the cut in hours were not in their wrong in this case (as much as I wasn't happy about it). Most owners it doesn't sit well with anyway. Bob Vinikoor really put a pressure play when I was doing the "full-time" shopper, but wanted to broadcast on WFRD during the vacas. Of course, no legal action ensued, but still it was a bit uncomfy.
I had the choice to either be full-time salary or part-time hourly and at the time I said "part-time" because I'd known way too many people who worked too many hours for the money they got paid. Kinda-like "legal extortion" to me which I think is a lot more offensive than a non-compete...
However, like I said they would have had the occasion to enforce it and seeings how there was virtually no radio in Plymouth to begin with... lol (you know the kind of contract/policy that gets borrowed from another cuz someone might be too cheap to hire their own lawyer... heck I did it with my own DJ service! lol)
Let's see the only major players (and they were fringe signals at best)...
Big 101.5 Laconia, WLKZ Oldies, Mix 94.1, and WLNH. Oh and WSCY I guess.
