Who's going to hire Carole Chandler-Sullivan?

Thanks to the hiring of Rob Chudzinski as Cleveland Browns head coach, who in turned hired offense line coach Mike Sullivan, it would appear one-time "it girl" Carole Chandler -- Sullivan's husband -- is headed back to Cleveland from sunny San Diego. The big question is, which station is going to hire her first? I'd put my money on Channel 3. Chandler will draw better ratings that Kris Pickle, whose visible lack of confidence and local knowledge detracts from the sharp professionalism of her partner, Russ Mitchell. I can't wait to get her back on the air! Get ready Cleveland.

Just a guess -- but I think you may be a fan of hers.

Carole's a solid hand to have around, and it's not out of the question that she finds a job in TV around here. Channel 3 may be as good of option as any. Also remember she was part of the Q 104 morning show a few years back, pre-Wilde and Fee (which then became Toohey and Fee and eventually "Fee's Kompany")

I don't think she's gonna get a real high profile gig (i.e. Russ Mitchell's co-anchor). Not a knock on her work, it's just the nature of the beast that is her husband's job. She's gonna follow him to wherever he coaches, so any station hiring her can't really afford to make her a main attraction -- can't invest too much in someone who may have to pull up stakes again in a moment's notice.

Kris Pickle isn't going anywhere, she's been here less than a year, and after last year's whirlwind of comings and goings, it would be nice to have some stability. She won some regional Emmys in Sacremento, so it's not like she's a hack. She may have been a liitle nervous working with a big-time nationally accredited guy like Russ Mitchell to start, but give her a chance to find her groove.

I won't be surprised if she returns to Channel 3. Perhaps she can be a reporter and fill-in as anchor. It will be hoot if she and John Anderson filled in on 3's morning show with Hollie Strano. Talk about a reunion as if they never split up.

There's also 5, 8 and even 19 to consider. She might be good at any of those stations. Then again, maybe she might not want to do news, but just enjoy raising her family.

Not a fan of hers. She quits and comes back more than Robin Swoboda and that is saying something!

To be fair, it's because of her husband's job that she can never stay in one place too long. I believe Carole and Mike Sullivan (now assistant O-Line coach for the Browns) have kids, so they all kinda have to go where he goes.

Robin is more of the flighty type.

Understood. I was trying to be snarky but forgot the smiley face. Still not a fan of hers. Sure she is a nice person but when her and Hollie were on together on Channel 3 news in the morning I truly felt sorry for John Anderson or Mark Nolan. It was unbearable to watch ::)

To be fair, WKYC did achieve their highest ratings with the Chandler (Sullivan)-Anderson-Strano combo around 2004 or '05. 3 was very dominant back then.

Today, 3 is doing just fine with the Kennedy-Tye-Strano team in the AM. Plus, their female anchor line-up is pretty much full, not to mention with reporters who can fill-in. The one show Carole would have a chance anchoring, if she does rejoin 3, is Live on Lakeside, but their current update anchor isn't going anywhere (and she's really good in my opinion).

Bring Danny Czekalinski back to town and put them on AM drive somewhere. He and Carole's stint on Q104 10+ years ago was actually one of the best morning duos I have heard over the years.

She will most likely return to channel 3. Robin will probably be leaving soon to spend more time with her family. ::)

She probably doesn't want a major role at Channel 3 anyway, given the fact that she has at least two kids and her husband won't be there too much for roughly six months out of the year.

Perhaps she can work as a freelance reporter where she can come and go when she wants. She could also do part-time work at CBS Radio, particularly at WDOK...er, New 102.
