Who's Good?

For those that live in Vegas and listen regularly to local radio I would like to know who you like? I've been blasted repeatedly for speaking my opinion on the Coyote's midday hire...Let's fire it up...Whom do you like on the air? Again, this is for Las Vegas radio people...out-of-towners zip it...

Dick Dale. He's new; but so far I'm liking him.
Dennis Mitchell. He really know his stuff.

Definitely delete the Rock and Roll Morning Show and Carlotta- KOMP has been on a slow descent for quite some time. I'm willing to give Dick Dale some time to ramp up- there's definitely something there- we'll see. But overall- KOMP is just to unfocused and generic- they need a major overhaul. They may be overestimating what they'll pick up from disgruntled Stern fans.

Of course 1075 has problems ahead, too - Carly Brown is hit and miss - I wish she would stop shouting. Hambone...well, I just don't get his presentation on such a heavy station. The afternoon show occasionally has something going on, but I hate their stunt boy- he sounds like he's reading cue cards, and isn't funny. Plus they have the same problem as the R&R guys- let each other talk, please. OR maybe just shut up unless you have something to say. God knows how Corolla will do.

M&M are as always pros, if a bit too complacent- the rest of the Mix staff much the same.

I wonder if Area 108 is going to scrape the dregs or bring in some real talent? There sure are some terrible weekenders here in town.

Carly Brown, yuck shes annoying as hell thank god we have Area 108 as a alternative to KXTE's "angry rock" format. But as far as local I like Ken Johnsons show is funny and it seems that hes picked up some listeners from Stern's departure, theres been alot of callers on air. But yeah for the most part Vegas radio is just as boring as everywhere else in the country.

I forget... is Jason Rooney the KMXB jock that sounds like a surfer dude or the one with the perpetually raspy throat? Either way, I wouldn't include him on a "good" list.

I listen to MIke O'Brien (I've liked him, as a radio DJ, ever since his days on 98.5) and Beth Lano on 102.7.

As a blast from the past, I always liked the Morning Edgeheads (Lance, Old Guy, etc..) on 103.5 KEDG... I'm hoping Area 108 can come up with something similar.

Since I am retired from the business, I dont feel right critcizing someone in a negative way.(There's a list of jocks who annoy for different reasons---talk to much about nothing, poor delivery, etc.)
