Who's got $100,000? Radio auction April, 2020

Should be interesting to follow this...seems like $1M is low for a Class B in Market #27. I would guess somewhere between $5-10M. Lots of speculation on potential buyers - like Ed Stolz and EMF....maybe Bonneville? Someone with an existing local presence and/or history who has the cash.

I’d say 3-5 million is a good estimate. Whoever buys may get lucky and be able to buy ready made equipment from Entercom!

I’m putting my money on Bonneville, EMF, Bustos, or (less likely), the Al Davis of radio...Ed Stoltz!

Only problem is for two of those operators, it’d be basically a single station operation. Don’t know how that works out in 2019.

Oddly enough, the only recent sale in Sacramento is the 2003 transfer of KUDL from Stolz to Entercom. That went for $25 million.

Based on LA prices, an inferior Class B sold in 2000 for $250 million, and a Mt Wilson one sold in the same period for an (allocated) amount of $400 million. The most recent sale of a superior-to-both Mt Wilson Class B was for $35 million (KXOS, now KLLI).

That means that, using the same ratio, a fair amount for a non-built, non-cash flowing station in Sacramento would be $2 million to $2.5 million.
