Who's got a good morning show?

With Randy & Spiff gone, Larry & Eric out, Tom Hughes given the boot, etc. Who's got the best morning show on Atlanta radio now?

My favorite is still Steve and Vikki on Star94 I have been listening to them since I was in highschool. I use to also enjoy Moby on kicks 101.5

I wish Dave would try something else in the mornings. (From 9a-midnight, I think they're really good. Sully has really grown on me.) But in the mornings, if they're going to give up, I wish they'd really give up and make it a jukebox with headlines/weather twice an hour. Nothing against the guy with Firfer, but its hard to listen to that banter.

Radio in Atlanta just plain stinks. Morning shows or not.. Veve and Sticky are horrid.
Frank Ski, is based solely towards black demo's. Atlanta is done as far as radio is concerned. Mornings will not save this dying ship.

I have always enjoyed Rhubarb and Dallas in the morning and
I think Southside Steve has been a nice addition. They seem
to have fun in the morning and play enough music as well.

The New Morning X is good, Rude's show is pretty good. And, since I live in Atlanta and have Sirius...The Howard Stern Show is as good as it has ever been.

why don't YOU show the "horrid" morning shows how it's done?
that's right: it's easy to armchair coach and criticize...do you consult?

Chris, you're being way to tough here...on lilburn ... allow me to be more specific:

True definition of horrid IS Steve and Vickie

1.) They're institutions with a track record few have ever obtained or maintained. This is evil.
2.) They've managed (well Steve has) managed to be funny and original for nearly 30 years
about 48 weeks a year minimum and not burnout like 99.9% of the rest of the world's
radio and non-radio comedians. This is unfair to the lame talent who works at drive thrus.
3.) They've managed to lock in the key demographic and are household names in
a Top 10 market. This makes them part of the conspiracy theory to destroy the lesser desired
segments of civilization that marketers are shafting daily.
4.) They've made their owners 100's of millions of dollars. They are greedy, evil corporate infidels.
5.) They've been honest, stayed out of trouble for the most part and given tons of
money and time to charities. They better quit Star now before Rosie gets word of this.
6.) They've made more in 5 hours than lilburn will make in his/her/it's lifetime...
ah, now here's the real issue. You're horrible if your a success.

There's plenty of reasons to perform a hatchet job on them. They suck. They're weak.
Blah! Blah! Blah! This logic keeps most of the world from admitting who is really weak or lazy to
even consider aspiring to anything.

7.) They take the high road. They never would say anything "horrible" about anyone else
unless it was part of the prank, etc. They are class acts and all around really nice, normal
make that great people who have made alot of people smile, laugh and chill in a world full
of people who refuse to see anything except the horrible side of life.

Most of us would love to be that "horrible."

This is so much fun , dont you agree? Whats that line, hmmm, more money than Ive ever made in my life.. Who cares, Morning Radio in Atlanta is no Good.. Sorry
its just the truth.. Tom Sullivan is better than both of them.

since none of this amounts to anything useful...I guess it IS "so much fun"...
BTW, Lilburn...are you involved in radio in any capacity? Not being sarcastic...just wondering if
your "morning radio in Atlanta is no good" rant is coming from an insider...or someone outside.
With the non-specific...broad-brush criticism of all things radio (other than your own "ideas")...I
suspect the latter. Please prove me wrong.

At the moment, I'd have to say that I find Project 961 the most listenable thing on Atlanta mornings. After that, it's probably Moby (for those who can hear the show), followed by Scott Slade, then trailed very distantly by Eagle if I happen to tune in when they aren't talking.

I WAS in radio for 20 + yrs. I am no longer in the business, only with a part 15 station.
My opnion's are coming from someone who just does not like the way radio is done now.
So in truth , yes Im an outsider who is not impressed with the presentation of the air product these days. Maybe Im just worn out on Steve and Vicky, but admittedly I like the morning show on 790. Those guys are funny. So I will detract my earlier statements about all of Atlanta Morning Radio.

You mean with the sound off, right?

Not at all.

I think the music mix is the best it's been on the station in a number of years (at least during daylight hours, the nights right now are too weak/alt-ish for my own tastes). But the current ratio of music vs jabbering morons is pretty much perfect.

I know they'll almost certainly lose me in the mornings when they stick a new pair/set of juvenile delinquents on the air, so I'm just going to try to enjoy it while it lasts.
