Hey Bob, Did I use to take care of some RDS paging equipment for you over WQKC in Seymour?wendradio said:Not much to be in charge of. Play the 400 hits Val Garris says test well. Hire a line guy and some add water. Now you got a Cumulus station.
I'd suggest contacting Joe Zerhusen, the Reds PA announcer for Great American Ballpark and broadcast affiliate manager. If you google his name and Louisville, you should see postings of where he was not happy with the Reds broadcasts and has tried to improve the coverage.storrs19 said:AM 1450 is on right now (I just checked it out) and announced they are the "exclusive home for the NFL" which probably means ESPN's Monday Night game of the week. You never know about this station. If they have all three hamsters there in the wheel it is okay but after sundown when two of the hamsters go home the signal fades to crap and sometimes they just lose the Reds network feed altogether. I have to tune in 700 WLW sometimes to make sure it wasn't on the Reds end (it almost never is). This is what you get with automated syndicated stations though. I use XM when the Reds are home but have to rely on terrestrial radio when they are on the road.
Nah, maybe they are utilizing their stereo programming. They're giving you the choice of shows in an attempt to double their 0 share of the audience. Have you tried turning your balance knob and listening to the left channel to one program and vice versa? One could only wish this station was operated so haphazardly.WHOKILLEDRADIO said:Well it sounds like the same idiots running FM Talk because double audio has been playing on 93.9 for a few hours now.

Haven't checked the numbers, but yes I do like WAKY since its a local, non-corporate station with good music and good local hosts. Is there a problem with that? Should be be backing the corporate IPOD stations instead? How many local people like you and I make a living with them?greg.hahn said:Ha! They beat WAKY last book. Just checking the ratings on here. WAKY had a 2.6 and a 2.0 rating in the last 2 periods listed. WQKC-FM, which I'm guessing are their calls has nothing listed.greg.hahn said:KyDXIn said:Nah, maybe they are utilizing their stereo programming. The only place I knew offhand to find ratings was at the top of the page, under Ratings, then see all Markets. I would think this would be the logical place to look for the most up to date ratings available, but I could be wrong. I'm not sure what the lag time is for compiling these reports.greg.hahn said:KyDXIn said:Just checking the ratings on here. WAKY had a 2.6 and a 2.0 rating in the last 2 periods listed. Where are you checking them since they're embargoed and not available online? How old are the ratings you are looking at?
I'm pretty sure WLCL 93.9 beat WAKY 103.5 in the Winter '09 book, if not 12+, then 25-54.

WAKY does something I prefer and thats broadcasting with their live djs. Many, and especially Johnny Randolph, will announce what will be played and give a teaser on a song with little know facts. For example, did you know when Johnny Cash played "A Boy named Sue" it was done at Folsom Prison, and they had no written music? You don't get information like that from these IPOD like automated stations.
