who's leaving Kidd Kraddick's show

My wife told me that they're having a contest to determine who is leaving their show for good. It's one of the main four players, Kidd, Kelly, Al, and Rick. This is pretty big news considering they're the #1 morning show in Dallas. Anybody have any scoop on who it is and more importantly, why?

Kidd mentioned people calling him asking for interviews - or "hey I know this guy you should talk to" -

Its the Rick guy - or whoever that guy is in the studio with them that knows everything and sings his movie reviews.

Tell your wife to listen to an Ipod or a cd player. Kid will not leave his show. It's syndicated to a lot of markets. One of the "minor" contributors might, but it won't be Kelly either. It's just a lame promotional stunt that obviously succeeded somewhat by getting people to talk about it.

Who's leaving?

The producer, Rich.

Why?

Kidd Kraddick can't hang on to producers. They get hired, usually with a one or two year contract, then they get the hell away from him as soon as they can. I've been made to understand that he is extremely difficult to work with. Having dealt with him in a retail situation a number of years ago, I can see that as being truth.

I don't know the guy in a work environment, though... so I could be totally wrong and he could be the nicest guy to work for and all that...

... doesn't change the fact that the office for Kraddick's producers has a revolving door...

Just keep this in mind in 12-24 months when Kidd Kraddick has another "Who's Leaving The Show" announcment/contest. It's always the producer, and they are always leaving for a different market.
______________

My queston is....Does anyone care?

If it is Rich, don't most of Kidd's producers leave for higher profile gigs? Seems the last 4 or 5 have moved on to better gigs? Flake Boy, Amy Catherine, Tara, Bert, there are probably one or two I'm forgetting. Does that mean Kidd isn't a jerk to work for? I don't know. Never worked for him, but that is certainly his rep, but in the same breath, you have to give him some credit for his producers moving onto better things.

Moving on to better things? Better than producing the #1 morning show in Market #5? What's better than that?

...unless, of course, the host/talent of the show is/are insufferable primadonna(s)...

But like I said, I've never worked with Kraddick in radio.

I think that you are confusing moving on to happier things with moving on to better things.
______________

Good point, except for those producers moved to their own shows or non-producing gigs, more on-air. They started out with bit player roles and moved onto full-time gigs on morning shows. At least a couple of them moved to smaller markets and then back here. Bert has his own show (Atlanta). Amy Catherine moved to Philadelphia produced and had a part time shift and came back here (KVIL), Tara moved far away and came back and is on a morning show (Wolf), Flake Boy was at one point a PD (ESPN). Alls I'm saying is someone, who does the hiring and firing, finds Kidd's show fertile "talent" territory. I won't rule out that they did move for a less hostile work environment, just seems their moves were (for the most part) good career choices too.

Who gives a sh*t if it IS the #1 show?

If you have to get up at 2:30 every morning
and have to deal with a prima donna appendage,
what fun can that be? On top of that, the dude
is probably not getting paid peanuts, and more
than likely gets blamed for mistakes and problems
that he/she did not make, but has to be the whipping
boy/girl nonetheless.

No one has to put up with that crap. I'd move on too.

Whenever I can't get to sleep, I will come back to this thread and will be asleep in no time.

Wrong, he was once a PD at the Mighty 1190 when it used to be called Fox Sports 1190, where he failed soooooooo miserably after thinking he could beat out ESPN and the juggernaut The Ticket. He eventually left/got fired/whatever Fox Sports and is currently the producer for Midday Show BAD Radio on The Ticket, who by the way are good buddies with Kidd Kraddick, and have had him on their show numerous times.

> Flake Boy was at one point a PD (ESPN).

It's not the first time I've been wrong today. Regardless, pretty sweet gig to end up at a "juggernaut" like The Ticket. If Kidd is as bad as many people say, I'd say he landed in a bed of roses.

Remember who owns 1190....even though he had the title PD, he wasnt...it was all directed by Corp and the local Market Mgr....with the idiotic combo, he never had a chance as a PD....
Look what happened to Fox Sports! There was no promotion, etc...(even though CC paid $16mill for it....what a joke)
