Who's making the big buck$$

I'll tell you who is making the big bucks in this market: Bob Rivers. Heard his deal is worth 2.5 million a year. That is just GONZO! T-MAN is raking in the dough at just under 2 million. Biggest waste of money goes to BJ Shea. A look at the trend shows BJ at 27th in the market...ouch. He makes a cool million so my figuring says he gets a million a share point, not bad work if you can get it. Fitz ain't doin bad either as is worth every penny!Lowest paid: Ichabod, Kent and Alan, which is what they are worth. Old and tired and ready for retirement. Kent makes a bundle on TV, maybe that is where he should go?Best deal: The guys at KCMS, who make little and are number one in the last trend. This is all hearsay, but I have it confirmed from several sources.

Yes but KCMS is owned by a non profit ministry, which is both more noble for them and embarrasing for the other corporate stations in town.

CBS ain't quite that dumb. To pay anyone $2.5M a year they would have to sell EVERY SPOT at $200 just to pay the talent. Assuming a normal sell out rate of say 75% and that CBS has the desire to make some money, KZOK's morning show would need to reasonably carry a rate of $500+ per spot. Are they getting that kind or rate?

I'd read $2.5M too.Don't forget he's on Mix in Portland, too.

I don't think the 2.5 mil number that is quoted is Rivers per year salary. It is either the total ammount his entire team makes per year or the total ammount he will receive over the length of his new contract.

KZOK is the number two biller in Seattle behind KMPS. Their average 5-7p spot rate is 300.00 and higher in morning drive, substantially higher. I would suspect they will bill around 14-15 million this year. Two million to the morning show annually would be worth it, considering the station billed about 8 million a year prior to the arrival of Rivers. Pretty good investment. I had heard two million a year for the entire show. T-Man is also in the million dollar range. Not sure about anyone else.Ryan Seacrest makes ten million a year and the station bills 70 million, so Rivers salary is on par with the national average based on billing for a number one morning show.
