Who's next for Christmas?

Sunny is already there.....who will follow? Will it be a Coast Christmas again? Or will Easy enjoy some Christmas hits once again?

Seems like Easy is a better fit for the Christmas music than Coast.

Speculations??? Let's hear them!

As a person who worked at a SHE in the past....I can pretty much assure you they will play Christmas hits, but they won't be all Christmas...they will mix it in with the music until a few days before, then they will hit it a little heavier on rotation until it's all over and back to normal

Now...surprise me if that doesn't happen :D

Hmm...I guess it didn't go through but I had replied that as person who worked the format before, they will play christmas mixed in with the music...more mixing towards christmas and then its over.

I would be shocked if they didn't

I haven't been following it but just how well does "All Christmas Music" work in South Florida. With the large Jewish population I would think it wouldn't work as well as other parts of the country. Then again, many of my Jewish friends love Christmas music so maybe I shouldn't generalize.

I agree. Wonder if it would be mostly pop Christmas songs (i.e. the Eagles "Come home for Christmas" or Bruce Springsteens "Santa Claus is coming to town"), or more traditional. Plus, I'm looking forward to some cool holiday voiceovers by Kelly Craig! ;D

Does 101.5 Lite-FM flip to Christmas music? When I vacationed in SoFlo around Thanksgiving in the late 90s, 101.5 would flip to all-Christmas on Black Friday to "get their listeners in the mood to shop at the malls".

I read on these boards that Miami is one the few markets where all-Christmas hasn't been successful. Is that in fact true? Haven't been back to SoFlo since 1998! :)

I believe that in past years, 101.5 is all Christmas only on Black Friday, and then again 30 hours straight from 6pm Christmas Eve Dec 24.

Historically, 101.5 LITE FM goes all-holiday on Black Friday and all of Thanksgiving weekend. It all started as a gimmick almost a decade before so many AC's jumped on the 'all-holiday-before-November-15th' shtick. But you're right, LITE's chosen never to go wall-to-wall with Christmas music until Dec. 24th.

As for the 'Holiday Festival of Music' -- that's a 43-year tradition dating back to the Sudbrink days: starts 12 noon Christmas Eve and rolls through midnight Christmas night.
